I'd say 4 to 5 feet.

I purchased this TV for gaming with my PS5, I love it. I came from a older TCL TV and I can tell a drastic difference. 120 Hz mode and VRR are well done for the price point.

I wouldn't necessarily say that is true. I've seen all of those diagrams online before saying "Here is the size/distance you need to tell the difference," and they've all been way off in my estimation.

Besides, 4K televisions also tend to feature all of the newer technology which you can take advantage of, including HDR. They are the mainstream sets now and you don't need to pay a pretty penny to get them.

Do I own a 4K TV? No, not for gaming at least. I have a 1440p 21:9 PC monitor and my main television set is my 1080p Sammy plasma from 2012.

Never gaming on a PC and never sitting closer than 10 feet away from a TV. Most viewing is probably 12-15 feet really. In order to take advantage of 4k for gaming at least would require a PS5 which I currently do not own. Rather not upgrade to 4k unless I would buy at minimum the Hisense 8 series unit. Like $650 now for a 55"? I've seen the seating charts find it hard to believe you need to sit 5 feet away to see 4k on a 55" set. I dunno.

I am just hoping we get a rift part sequel. Have heard people say a smaller game like miles but rift apart is already not that long.

5 feet isn’t necessary or practical. Hell, I’m sitting at a normal sized desk with a 34” ultrawide monitor, and my head is probably 3’ away… at a desk, lol.

That being said, I would try to hold out for a deal on something at least 65” if you’re going to be sitting 12-15 feet away. I think 55” is objectively a little too small in that environment. You could definitely do much bigger, but 65” is still more than serviceable at that distance.
