Re: No Formation Subs Or Mass Subs?

I find it hilarious that I would worry about getting correct snaps for back ups and utilize formation subs and etc in previous NCAA's and Madden, but then would get frustrated because the CPU didn't follow suit. Now we all dont get it. The subs with the right stick work, but are definitely limited. I always loved formation subs. Throw a guy with decent traits in a few and he would still play a role despite a lower overall.

Re: No Formation Subs Or Mass Subs?

I hate conjecture, and this wouldn’t be anything but, however… perhaps the wear and tear system didn’t work well with having mass substitutions in this game. If you’re already riding a backup halfback and QB late in the game and they get dinged or worn down, would the game know who to plug in at that point? Does every team’s roster have a 3rd or 4th string at those positions? Was it giving issue in trying to play people out of position or place starters back in the game?

I can’t imagine they implemented a new feature such as wear and tear, with the emphasis on subbing your players to preserve their health, only to not have a way of doing so in a succinct manner.

I feel like some clarification and being upfront about some of these issues the community are spotting already would go a long way here. I’m sure not everyone will accept the answers at face value, of course. But explaining what went into the design and implementing it would likely put out a lot of fires. Especially when the community would explain to the late-comers as to why things are the way they are. But I digress.
