Re: Sim Engine Need Massive Work

Im keeping an eye on you guys to see if u get the devs to fix things. Ive accepted that EA changes what they want to change when they are ready. Fix franchise didnt rebuild the mode for madden but hope is still there till 2027 imo. Thats plenty of time to fix things and recreate others. If yall can get these things fixed stat wise then im all for it. I want better ranking for playoff games, less upsets, and cpu vs cpu ability for non user games. Lets see what happens as i dont use social media as much as the younger gen.

Re: Sim Rushing Stats Need Massive Work

I jumped in here for the first time in a long time because I'm obviously curious about College Football 25. I know we all claim that we used to be, "huge," NCAA Football fans, and I don't doubt the majority of people on this forum were/are. I was one of them, so much so that I used to make rosters for XBox 360 and people used to ship me their memory cards from all over the country. I would copy the file after I spent literally two weeks naming every player in the game back to people so we could all get the most out of the game. I say ALL of that because I was (and I guess still am) hoping that I would be proven wrong by this game.

I predicted a decline in sports franchise modes (dynasty mode for NCAA) over a decade ago like many of us did. However, I clung on. I clung to MLB The Show until MLB 21. I dabbled with Madden every once in a while hoping that they'd fulfill their promises of a revamped franchise mode but never could get back into it the way I was with Madden 2005. I played NHL religiously until about NHL 14. But slowly, over time, exactly what I expected took place.

We got rehash after rehash of the same game. Sports game developers gave us JUST enough each year to get most of us to come back. While they turned their attention to their ultimate team modes. I had my first child in 2008 and my second in 2011. I noticed as they got older and got into video games that all they cared about was their online team. Franchise mode was unbearably boring to them. Each year I clung on. But it became evident that my way of playing sports game was an ancient art form. When I tried to point this out to people they brushed it aside or would say that I was being, "negative." However, my beloved sports video game mode (franchise and dynasty) was going by the wayside.

When College Football was announced I was initially excited, however, I quickly came back down to earth and realized that the focus by EA would be ultimate team mode. And I told myself I would not be fooled by the shiny new paint they are throwing on this game while appealing so heavily to a nostalgic crowd of gamers. All of us that are 30-50 years old that were hoping for a return to yester-year, well, I just didn't think it was going to happen.

With all that being said, I've cautiously watched this game as it hit early release. I've watched gameplay, and yes, it looks really amazing. But today I finally decided to jump on the forums here that I've been on for over 20 years and sure enough, glaring issues. And if there are major issues with a sim engine it tells me two things. First of all, it's the same ole EA. And if you think they're going to have some major fix, it's just unlikely. And second, I can't see myself getting into a game where I want so badly to play dynasty mode where essentially that statistics are broken.

Overall I'm disappointed but not surprised. I was, at best, cautiously optimistic about this game. It looks cool, it has a, "college atmosphere," but my suspicions so far are proving to be correct, EA's focus will not TRULY be dynasty mode.

I'll continue to look on and see what happens at a distance and might eventually cave. But to say I have low expectation would be quite the understatement.

2 things.
1. Dynasty/Franchise is a mode for football diehards and the new crowd/non diehards just prefer to pick up and play. Id love a deep dynasty with logic for drafting, deeper scouting, better sim logic, better 32 team control with cpu vs cpu etc. Most new gamers prefer to spend money on accessories and cards than take the time to level up a player in a franchise over seasons using training and xp.

2. Mut and Online tourneys make wayyyyyyy too much money for EA to focus as much on other stuff like franchise rebuilds. Ppl literally buy cards for a quick way to build a fantasy squad, and online tourneys keep the comp crowd happy with cheesing the game for a stick skills reward imo.

What we want is just not lucrative enough for EA to invest the majority of their resources too. By the time we would get through 1 to 2 seasons with a true to life deep franchise, the next version would be already out or about too. If u need initial sales and post sales to keep looking good, mut n h2h are the answers. Ppl are spending millions on a game that has the core logic for gameplay all over the place an messy.

Again they are making millions on top of millions when ppl like u an I can see the same issues 3 releases in back to back to back. Thats like selling a run down car for new car prices and then making lambo money in the end with the buyer adding decals and custom mods to it from you as well regardless of little to no fixes each release lol. Apparently quality doesnt matter to the new crowd as well as the OG crowd. U want more bang for ur buck, they just want what the cool guy on the internet is boasting about or used to spam the game etc.

The only thing you're wrong about is that they're literally making BILLIONS on "Ultimate Team."

I knew a guy that during COVID, he spent ALL of his COVID bucks on damn MUT!!! He told me it was around $12K!!

Billions, man lookahere. We are the ancestors at this point. Ppl are wild and thats why i just look from a distance atp. One day i want a deep franchise in football again but its hard to turn down billys. The suits probably hear the devs bring this up an laugh in their face.

U want to risk billions for better scouting, get tha hell outta my office lol

Re: Sim Rushing Stats Need Massive Work

I used to care about sim stats and rushing avgs, but the older I became, the more I realized the gaming market (EA, whoever fits the mold) do not make games for me, they make games for the mass market.

The sooner I realized that, the more fun I've had with games and the more patience I've developed.

This years game play has been a breath of fresh air and much better than the last Madden.

For those that want closer sim stats, continue the march and fight, and continue to boycott the game.

This thread started off Sim Rushing Stats Need Massive Work and it should continue on that straight path and that includes me.

There is a impressions thread you can voice your pleasure or displeasure with the entire game or parts of the game.

I'm glad you have found a way to enjoy the game but when your entire progression model is tied to statistics and the statistics are broken your progression model is broken.

Sounds like you don’t want him to enjoy it just because you don’t..
