Dynasty Realism...

The first year in my dynasty as Michigan I went 9-2. I chalked up the 2 losses to "adjusting" to the new game from years passed. So, now I'm 7 games into year 2, and I'm 5-2. I sufferred back-to-back losses to frickin' Minnesota and Michigan State. Both were ranked teams #20 and #21 respectively, but I was ranked much higher. I made a comeback the next week and soundly beat #9 Penn State at Happy Valley, but I still have games against ranked opponents Iowa and Ohio State.

On previous versions of the game, I would go undefeated for pretty much the entire length of my dynasty...5 or 6 years. There would be the occassional loss, maybe once every 3 seasons.

I love the realism of this years game. I feel like it truly is an achievement to run the table, go undefeated, and win the National Championship. I even found myself wanting to "accidentally" bump the reset button before the game saved...but I've managed to avoid that thus far.

Is this similar to what others have seen? FYI, I've been playing on All-American, with the default sliders.

Re: Dynasty Realism...

I'm finding my new Texas Dynasty to be a breeze in season one. I forgot that I needed to adjust the sliders to make it harder to compensate for me using a better team. My Heisman sliders were fine when playing with my alma mater, Southern Miss, but for Texas, I've had to up the ante for the CPU since my talent level allows me to use harder sliders.

I have a dynasty with Arkansas and I was able to upset USC at the Colliseum in triple overtime and had good tough wins vs Alabama and Auburn and thought maybe it was getting too easy for me. Then I go down to Georgia and they kick the snot out of me 49-7.... I was never beaten that soundly on any of the previous games. Its a nice change.

I agree with you boys completely. I got my *** handed to me by Oklahoma while playing with A&M in year 5 and I was just shocked. Never have i been beaten by 30. I have to play Miami in the Orange Bowl and we are not playing for NC. Oklahoma is playing Iowa for the NC. Bastards. The game makes you fight for everything. I have had one 1 loss season in 5 and have not gone undefeated yet. Normally in the first five seasons I will have had at least one undefeated season. Not this year.

Yea, thats what Ive been trying to find in this game for a few years now, and its cool that its pretty damn tough to go undefeated like it should be in real life. Im now in my 5th season with Carolina, I had 3 really good seasons, then last year I had ratings wise one of the top 5 teams in the country and killed everyone heading to the title game. In the title game, I played Florida, who was an A+ overall, and they played like it. I was #3 in the polls but #2 in the BCS, so everyone was talking about the bowl controversy going into the game, and I got my *** handed to me, only giving the media more to talk about. Recruiting was not going as well, I guess the recruits felt like our program was going to fall off after a huge loss like that, but I accidently allowed the CPU to recruit for me with my left over points the last 2 weeks, so I ended up landing a pretty good class. It didnt really matter though, I have my entire team back, so does Florida, and we were 1 and 2 at the start of season 5. Then they lost against Tennesse, and Tennessee took over at #1 now, Im still #2, and 6-0 on the year now, but Ive only had 2 blowouts. NC State, who was unranked and 0-2 when I played them, had me down 21 at the half and I had to make a huge comeback in that one. I just played a game vs. Ga. Tech, who was #15, and I started out great, by halftime I was running away with it up 24 points. In the second half, they were hitting every play for big gains and my offense couldnt do ****, so I had to hold on, I end up winning on a last second field goal. I think I like this game the most out of any of the series so far, if you fix the flaws with sliders, the game is extremely addictiing.
