Re: How many of you moved on?

I have finally come to terms with this game. I have accepted that there are too many turnovers on both sides, and there are some plays I can't run (like the money option). So it certainly isn't a perfect sim, and stats are off. However final scores are good, tough teams are tough and cupcakes are cupcakes. So I have managed to enjoy it.

But I am going to be very cautious about purchasing '09. This is not a silly boycott threatt. It just that I spent way too much time working settings/sliders for both the momentum riddled '07 (old gen) and Int-fest '08 (Xbox). I won't go through that again.

There seem to be a number of folks that have gone back to their old gen versions. While I didn't take it that far, I can understand why. Hopefully EA has read some of these posts because it speaks volumes. This is the 2nd year of NCAA on the next gen, and 3rd year for EA football. I don't recall any posts like this 5 years ago with people perferring the PS1 version over PS2/XBOX.

I have all but moved on to halo 3. Every now and then when none of my friends are on to play halo 3 and i am sick of lone wolf I will throw this game in but I typically turn it off pretty quickly and remember why I quit my dynasty in the first place. The CPU AI on this game is just not good... it stinks.

I moved on, and then came back.

I got NCAA the day it came out, then traded it in a month ago toward NHL. I decided Madden was all I needed for my football gaming. But the FA glitch killed Madden for me, and I remembered I like college football more than the NFL. So Madden is out and NCAA is back.

I was enjoying NCAA...until game last night - computer threw 9 interceptions. I've never had a game that unrealistic before. I played it out, but when your FS gets 5 interceptions in a game against a fairly decent QB..... Might've just been one of those flukes. Turned the game off, didn't save. I'll try it again tonight probably, hoping for some better luck before I start playing with sliders...

Re: How many of you moved on?

I moved on after the first couple of games I played, but now I'm thinking of moving back just for a game or two to see if I made a hasty decision. Something about that other game with the legends has kept me relatively uninterested in NCAA, but the rash of great upset games has made me want to see if I can replicate them in the game as well.

Re: How many of you moved on?

I decided to move on 2 seconds ago. Heisman cheats so bad it isnt even funny. The computer cheats its way to at least 2 INT's every game. I've got a guy wide open on a corner route, and my All american QB throws a ball THIRTY yards off target right to the opposing FS. No pressure, stepped up in the pocket, and i miss my target by half the width of the field. This happens every game.

Even with that, i manage to stay in most games (7 years into my Troy Dynasty) but they still find a way to screw me. Just finished a game. 10 seconds to go, I'm up 1 against UCLA at home. I play prevent D and take control of the FS. The computer throws a 10 yard out route to a reciever rated in the 70's. He runs over my All American Outside linebacker. (who outweighs him by 75 lbs) makes two separate spin moves to get past 2 senior DBs, and then makes one final spin move to break out of my tackle. 55 yards to the house and the game is over. Its total horse **** and I'm done. I understand its hard to make just plain old good AI, but you cant hamstring my players and make below average players into super man just to win the game.

Re: How many of you moved on?

I'm on the fence right now. I popped in 07 last night and I just enjoyed that everytime I got to the outside I knew I wasn't going to take it 90 yards. It also felt the same to know I had a decent chance of running someone down.

I do miss the passing game of 08 though. I can't put my hands on it, it just seemed that in the 08 version the touch pass was done better and the deep ball was not as much as a gimmie. I liked the recruiting of 08 is a little different but not that much of an upgrade from 07. I liked the summer drills.

I'm sure there are some more positives to 08, I just think that 07 was a better game and I'm thinking about scrapping my dynasty and going back to 07.

If there's a way to get the 08 year rosters in the 07 game, I'd love to know how.
