Don't get me wrong this game finally plays like next gen should. I was really impressed with the computer AI in most areas and the tackling, blocking and a lot of other core gameplay areas have been improved immensely.

But in the end the game is still too spastic. The game plays way to fast for me(watch the OL and DL get off the ball crazy stuff going on there) and the animations have all kinds of random speeds. The game lacks immersion from a presentation standpoint. No where close to a TV style presentation, which is something I think 90% of us want. I also ran the option 15 straight times (three separate drives) and scored 3 straight touchdowns. I average about 25 ypc running the load option with OSU over numerous games.

But the real reason I won't be buying NCAA is because 1) No accelerated clock 2) No create-a-play/playbook feature. Sorry but those two things make or break football games for me.

The game is definitely moving in the right direction but it seems like the game I was expecting as the first edition of next gen, not three years in.
This will probably come across wrong... but I just don't think any year will ever be the year for you.

Go Bears though

Back at the top of page 82 of this thread, someone said that they downloaded it when they were at work and then put it on their PS3 at home. Maybe I misunderstood what he was saying, but I don't think I did.

I don't understand why it would be so hard to include an accelerated clock feature. Create a playbook/play is one of these no brainers....I don't see how a football cannot include this along with the game. It irks me to no end that they cannot include a damn play creator. Since we can do all the roster editing, recruiting, disciplining etc.... but we can't make the plays our team will run? Isn't anybody else a little upset about this? I can understand if you play campus legend mode and are only the player but when we run a dynasty we are essentially the coach and we cannot come up with innovative playbooks....isn't that how coaches make their name?

Its been years and I am still just dismayed that companies don't add this stuff. You can take al ot of the other crap as far as I am concerned but a play editor would seem essential.

funny a lot of people would say its still too slow, I think its about right, at least better than '08 where the players ran too slow.

i'm pretty sure the option was fixed between the build of the demo and the final build, everyone that went to the community day said it was at least.

i agree about the lack of presentation though.
To me it is the OL/DL that are way to quick and spastic. Watch how fast stunts, blitzes and cross blocks happen it is like they all morph into a spot right after the snap. I wish I could get our high school lineman to play like that!

oh, i see. i agree on the ol/dl speed. the "skill" players was what i was talking about.

create-a-play/playbook is high on my list of thing i wish were in. but its not a game killer to me. there is a chance that accelerated clock could come to NCAA '09, they are patching it in for Madden, and Ian said that the NCAA team was looking at it.

We've been over this a hundred times fellas. Some say the speed is too fast, some say it's too slow. The bottom line is I say the speed is just right so let's just roll with that and move on to something else.

Actually, I think this is a big deal, because I can see both arguments.

I feel a distinct difference in game speed between when I'm hitting a hole and when I'm in the open field. Maybe this is how it should be, but here's how I read it...

Personally, I don't think it's too slow. I like the open field speed... the speed at which players run. Maybe a tish too slow for some, but I like it right where it is.

However, what is too fast is the animations and changes of directions. The speed at which you can cut does not mesh with the speed at which you run. It results in a jerky feel.

I think players who do a lot of deep passing and outside running are going to feel the game is too slow. Players the run up the gut and throw underneath are going to find the game too fast. This is the problem with twitch gameplay, and why I think they need to bring back momentum/inertia physics.

************************************
Now, on to the reason I opened this thread. Despite all that; the more I play this demo, the more I like this game. The animation and juking systems are outstanding and make a bigger difference than perhaps any gameplay change in the history of this franchise.

Every time I score, it's different. The gameplay is so much more varied now. I love it. Definitely so replay worthy stuff. It reminds me of Winning Eleven in the way you can do so much with an animation driven system. It's awesome.

wow, i must admit that i have lost total faith in easports cause of the trash they put out the last few years on next generation..i guess they finally realize that people were starting to catch on.. thanks for update rosters on nfl2k5..that game kept me occupied..BUT it looks like ea has stepped it up..FINALLY!!!....im actually excited again like back in the days with ps2 and xbox...i was impressed with the demo..the model of the players is the best i have ever seen and the graphics overall is great...the gameplay has gotten much better...YES!!..looks like it going to be fun...now, my faults about the game: the sideline player can be a lil bit better and more interactive like all pro football and the passing mechanics are a lil annoying..is it just me or did anyone notice that either the pass is a bullet or super, super lob pass...u try to lob in the flats, the quarterback throws mad HIGH..enough time for the opposite safetly to make the tackle...i know its the demo but i truely hope they fix that..please ea do fix that.....damn, i cant wait till the 15th
