Dynasty guys: Underdog or Powerhouse

I'm a USC (Southern Cal) alum, so I always start off with them and play until I win a few national championships. Then, I'll usually start a 2nd dynasty with a low rated team and try to build them up. However, the last few versions haven't been fun for me, so I haven't done that since 06.

I always play with UVA b/c I've from Charlottesville and have been a season ticket holder for years...

For the past couple iterations i've started with a crappy team (ULM, Utah State), built them up for a few years and parlayed it into a job at a middling school in a BCS conference. After winning a national championship in year 3 or 4 at the new school i would go job hunting again.

This year i think i'll start with Rice (since they've ditched those hideous USFL unis for something more classic) and stick with them for the long haul. My goal is to get them into the Big XII and be in BCS bowl contention by year 6 or 7.

For me it all depends on the competition level.

If I am in a elite league, I def. want a team like Ohio State, Florida etc.

If I am an a equal league then I tend to run with an average squad ala Notre Dame, Northwestern etc.

In the end, I will either run with Ohio State or Notre Dame in most of my dynasties.

UVA definitely won't a be favorite this year...I take it you were talking about Clemson...

Neither is a "powerhouse", but I typically do an Iowa Hawkeyes franchise (I'm from Cedar Rapids, about 20 minutes from Iowa City), and a Northern Illinois franchise (where I went to college).

Basically the only reason I buy the game is so I can play as Michigan. I will play as some other scools, but only after I get sick of being Michigan, which hasn't happened for the past couple of years. The only time I've ever done the 1-star team thing, similarly, is after I've already gotten in some 200+ games. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to that point on next-gen yet. Hopefully this will be the year.
