Re: (Recap) Designer vs. OS Member: TheFuture (UT) vs. AuburnAlumni (Troy)

Glad to se how the game turnout. Man I love NCAA football. My only complains are:

1. Completions % too high:
Possible Causes:
a) This is due to the fact that Receivers catch everything thrown in their direction.
b) Defensive players are not as fast/aware/agile as Ofensive players so receivers get open easly on slants/ins/out
c) Qbs are way too precisive, there should be more over/under throws

Possible Solutions:

a) Make defense more agile, so DBs would jump the slants and other routes.
b) Increase drops, specially on traffic.
c) Leading the receivers should be more sensitive causing more over/under throws.

2. No Human Defensive Pass Rush

Possible Causes:
a) Dlinemen are way to slow. Not even the fastest DE is able to blow past the OL.
b) OL way to good

Possible Solutions:
a) Increase DL overall speed and Accelaration.
b) Decrease CPU OL Pass proctection because the sliders dont seem to fix it.

I think It is not too much to ask. Fix this and this game is a TEN

P.S. Punt Coverage should be improved too

I just got AA's voicemail while I was gametesting some teams for online. I really like Texas by the way. Should keep me in against cheesers and their playbook is nice. I would normally be FSU, but I wanted a few more options because they are almost too powerful.

How is Madden going to be compared to this? Same type of thing where offense rules or more balanced? I am wondering how glitchy it will be online.

NCAA is really fun, but I have a feeling it's going to get traded in for Madden for me. We will see though. I hope the running game is even better. NCAA does have a nice run game if you lay off turbo and work your way through holes with the left stick.

The problem is the speed differential between offensive and defensive players.

I can be playing as a good MLB...recognize a speedy HB going to the flat for a pass...and NEVER COME CLOSE.

It's frustrating...I need to mask the HB with a DB now...only shot you get!

LBs can not cover HBs/WRs, period. That's why crossing routes are money.

Plus throw in the fact that the defensive AI is pretty bad...hooks are money...yellow zones are terrible.

With all this said...I can adapt to how the game plays. Fix the roster (which they are) and online dynasty server issues and I'm happy.

There is definitely a post snap speed "handicap" with DBs and LBs. WRs simply EXPLODE past them on outs and slants many times.

Is it just me or does the defense shimmy for a second (causing a sort of headstart for the offense) whenever the ball is hiked?

The most glaring thing I noticed is the fact that a Troy QB would never have that much time to throw against a power school like Tennessee's defensive line. I mentioned it before, but line play is the biggest difference between power schools and mid-majors.

Good stuff.

One thing I would like to tack on to AA's post is in my game with King Rocket catch tonight, when he was not doing that he would drop back then wait for the HB to go up the middle and run a out.

I would try various blitzes, run plays that guarded the flats, assign DB's to the HB, and nothing would stop this. He simply had too much time in the pocket and I had to expose my defense to too much just to stop something that should not require putting my D through all those changes.

I am not gonna discount my own skills as I am by no means no great NCAA player but some of the things going on in the game need addressing.

I hope to play that guy again so I can get some practice against people that play like that. A 70-28 plunging aint healthy for the ego, LOL

It's not just you. The HUM controlled defense definitely does a little shimmy as the ball is just snapped. It just needs to be tweaked a tad. I don't want nano mania blitzing or anything, but very little pressure from a dominant front four vs. an average or below average OL is not exactly football in my book.
