CUSTOM PLAYBOOKS

It's ridiculous that it isn't in there now, plus it would be sweet to be able to have the wildcat and heavy gator both in my arsenal. not to mention lots of spread formations with several I formations, etc.
102nd time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and don't forget formation subs!

The true problem with all of this is not enough attrition in programs. Look at Alabama last year, they signed 34 players! Teams sign large classes all the time unless they are seriously short on scholarships.... simply limiting a player to the number that comes available is not right unless you are able to cut players to simulate attrition before you start recruiting.

I also agree that they need to work in non-qualifiers. This could be fun for rebuilding because their could be a 4-star player big teams stay away from because he has a 2.0 GPA or a really low ACT score... you could take the risk and wait it out to find out if he qualifies... say by having the guy take the ACT in week 4 or something of recruiting.

I think the biggest problem with recruiting is that too many bigtime schools like LSU, USC, Florida are taking players they would never consider in real life... those teams should not end up with a class of 3 5* 5 4* 10 3* and 4 2* players and a few filler 1* to make up the difference. Teams also end up recruiting guys that don't fit thier playing styles so you have the QB that looks like he has no knees when he runs trying to do a spread option offense. (I will not go into my complaints about the running animations anymore than I already have, but QB running is just rediculous unless they are a scrambler.)

Re: **Official NCAA Football 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Not sure if mentioned before, but how about a throw meter like a pitching meter in many of the baseball games.

This way the qb power and accuracy can be varied by the user. The game would have passes that are high, low off target etc instead of right to the receiver or defender. Pressure from the dline would make a passer hurry his throw, making it less accurate etc.

Re: **Official NCAA Football 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Some things i would love to see on NCAA 2010:

1. For the Dynasty, bring back the legal aspects of it. If a player is caught skipping class you have to suspend him for X amount of games or the NCAA will step in and punish your school. I miss that so much, it made it to where if you had a bad character on your team (im looking at you T.O) Then you knew it and you punished him. Let that person who is messing up affect the rest of the team and if it gets to a certain boiling point we should be able to dismiss him from the team. Thus morale improves on the team and they start playing better.

2. Online play: Input the fair play rules back in please. This is so annoying. I hate going up against guys who are losing 14-0 its 4th and 26, they are on their 19 yd line and they go for it. I stop them, they drop their connection and im left with playing the CPU. I will commend EA for putting in the super sim feature for online to make it easier for us that dont quit to fast forward the game that was already a blowout.

3. Online Play: If someone is down at any point in the game by 21 let us concede defeat. It would make alot of games faster and I'm sure it would stop alot of these people from quitting so darn fast.

4. Gameplay: Fix the passing game. It was a big problem across the board with madden and NCAA this year. Passing has become too easy and none of the zone schemes seem to work like they should. I would like it if the QB's didnt have auto aim on and could hit every single receiver and just the perfect time to convert that 3rd and 16 that i put them in. Why is it that i can stop the passing plays on 1st & 10 and 2 & 10, but for the life of me i cannot stop the 3rd & long. Just doesnt seem to fit all too well.

5. Presentation: YOU HAVE THE ESPN LICENSE! USE IT! Quit giving us the shaft presentation wise. We want to see our players warming up, we want to see pre-game trash talking. We want to see halftime highlights and scores from around the NCAA(in dynasty). Whats the purpose in getting the ESPN license if you arent going to use it? Stop doing a direct snap if you will to the coin toss. We want more pre-game, half time, and post-game presentation!

6. Other tidbits: Add more defensive playbooks or different types. Why does everyone have the SAME EXACT defensive playbook? Also, speaking of plays, it seems like there have been the same exact plays to choose from year after year. Wouldn't it be cool to actually and some spice to the plays. Throw in some more trick plays and things of that nature

Fix the stadiums and let us upgrade as well. I love seeing the major Div-1 teams getting their stadiums correct, however if i decide to take a 1 star team (say UTEP) and i turn them into a national powerhouse, i shouldnt have 15,000 fans coming out to cheer for the number 1 team in the nation. I should have the same amount as every other powerhouse.

While on the subject of fans, make home field advantage matter! If we are blowing the team out and its near the end of the game let people start filing out to get out early so they can go get drunk and celebrate. If we are getting blown out, let people start filing out so they can get out early and go get drunk and talk about how crappy their team played. Capture the beauty of homefield. When down in your opponents student section let the noise level be absolutely mind numbing. Make it to where you get more false start penalties down in that area.

I mean i could sit here and go on and on and im sure most of you will agree with what i posted, if you read it all. I think there are a ton of things EA can put into this game, however they are holding off because its all one big marketing scheme. If they throw all their eggs in one basket what are they going to have next year? They stripped the game down to the bare minimum for the release date and slowly each year they are adding the same "new" old stuff back into the game.

Re: **Official NCAA Football 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Need to make the AI players more human, i.e. players missing assignments on both sides of the ball. This should be tied into their awareness. Young players with great athletic skills are often not effective because they are not yet comfortable with the scheme so they make mental mistakes be it missing a key block on the line, a WR running the wrong route, or a defender getting lost as to what his zone assignments are.

This would be great in dynasty b/c it is unrealistic to have tons of freshmen starting from day 1.

If EA is serious about making this and Madden the best they need to conceputally take a look at how they want to represent football. Look at what makes one team good over another. Look at how one player can be just as good overall as another player, but in completely different ways. How you can really suffer on the field for having a bunch of sub-par players. How having an excellent offensive line differs from an average one. etc etc etc.

Something that would be cool in dynasty is if they had an overal team motivation meter. Somewhat similar to ESPN NFL 2k5's franchise mode where the coach assigns teams or positions assignments and time off, depending on the team ratings would increase/decrease. Would be cool if they did something similar in this game where you have to leverage between working you team hard enough to prepare them for the game and giving them time off plus maybe pitching a nationally/regionally televised game, rivalry, bowl incentive, undefeated season, spoiling the other teams bowl hopes, etc. to up their overall motivation/morale. And maybe a lower teir team that is jacked would have a decent chance to beat a higher ranked team, by maybe playing a little bit above their best and making minimal mistakes, while the higher ranked team plays below their potential (see Oregon St/USC)

This could also work the other way, getting a higher ranked team jacked up to play a mediocre one giving you a better chance for a blowout.

I actually like idea of special abilities a'la All-Pro but if player ratings are implemented correctly they may not be needed. Also 2k didn't get them exactly right in that game either, but it is a very good idea if it can be effectively executed.

Re: **Official NCAA Football 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Like everyone knows, the future of gaming is the constant upgrade of graphics, and elaborate storage. I have to agree with the details of the game needing to be fixed greatly, to be "life like".

1) I propose that there should be an "Athletic Director Mode", AD Mode. You have the options of hiring a coaching staff, upgrading facilities, upgrading stadiums, choosing sponsorships for your school (Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, etc.), and your funds will come from bowl game wins. Also the ability to edit uniforms. There would be a "Coach Pool" where you can choose from a broad variety of coaches. Picking the young offensive coach, or the older defensive minded coach. Each coach will have resumes of statistics from older jobs.

2) I love the idea of the "Impact Recruit". There should be a "potential" meter for each player. Since recruiting is such a big part of the game, it should go more in-depth. You should be able to meet the player. Which brings me to the High School Senior Bowl. Having that would be a great tool for evaluating players. And also furthering the process of recruiting to the next level.

3) From a gameplay standpoint, the "standard sleeve" option in editing the player looks rediculous. No college players where thier sleeves like that. They should be more tighter. Like I said before, the looks of gameplay are very, very important. There should be more options for helmets, sweatbands, gloves, shoes, visors, etc. Detailed things such as towels, helmet scars, and there should be the ability to choose hairstyles. Atleast 40% of a college football team has long hair. On the sidelines there should be more than just players, it should look crowded with players, coaches, and trainers.

4) BIG GAME HYPE, before and after! I think that the game of the week, should have ESPN GAMEDAY there. There should be a presentation of Corso's pick, talking about the impact players, showing the teams come out, and team comparasons. After a big win, there should be rushing of the field, or something realistic. I know that the NCAA is strick on EA, but seriously the ending of games now just suck. Putting hand in hand with "AD Mode", if you are building a program up, and get a big win. Your integrity should move higher, but if you start losing and your integrity drops as AD, you are on the hot seat.

I believe this is what should be included in NCAA Football 2010...

Re: **Official NCAA Football 2010 Wishlist Thread**

i think that when starting a dynasty you shouldnt be able to chose any school you want, they should start you out on a low level school and build your way up, or even be a coordinator, they could do this by doign the same thing for legend only run offense or defense and sim the rest, and then make your name and get a head coaching job somewhere. BRING BACK MAKE YOUR OWN SCHOOL. also if your at a small school or even a bigger school you should be able to add on to the stadium your at. what 6 star school has a stadium that host 10,000 people???

Re: **Official NCAA Football 2010 Wishlist Thread**

I haven't had the chance to read the whole thread, but here's what I would add/change:

* individual ratings - make them more realistic and make them easier to understand. For instance, a 99 speed should be a specific number in the 40 (ie. 4.15) regardless of size and weight. This could help with the disparity in linemen speed compared to the rest of the team. Also, reduce the number of OVR 99 players. There should be one, maybe two, OVR99 players in the country. It should be rare to have that type of athlete.

* team ratings - EA needs to realize that a team can have an amazing offense and a sub-par defense. Take Texas Tech, a great offense (90's) but a pathetic defense (70's) - but in the game they are 90's across the board.

* sound - College bands and traditional chants bring the atmosphere to college games. Add more specific team songs and chants. I know it can't be done for all teams, but hit the top 30 teams in the nation. There are so many situational chants/songs or random chants/songs that could be included. For instance, Alabama has the "ROLL TIDE ROLL" kickoff chant, where before the kick starts the crowd will yell "roll" (prolonging the l) until the ball is kicked and then scream "tide roll". Or the "Rammer Jammer" song which is a Bama tradition.

* coaches - about time EA ponied up and made a deal with the coaches and put them into the game. I'd even go so far as to say they ought to digitally create their likenesses (or at least the major coaches).

* recruits - it would blow my mind if they partnered with a site like Rivals and received recruiting updates so that when you start a dynasty, it would download all the current recruit rankings and allow Rivals to update the recruit information including attributes. It would change the names, but retain the actual athlete. That, in my opinion, would increase my replay value.

* updates - can we please get roster updates from EA?!? It gets old playing Alabama as a suck team and not truly being able to compete against the opposing teams.

* o-line - About time to realize that the pocket collapses and QBs (regardless of their stats) cannot roll around in the pocket for 20 seconds outrunning d-linemen like the linemen were wearing lead shoes. Penalize players for running out of the pocket. O-Linemen have no idea where their QB is, so when the QB leaves the pocket, it should be advantage defense.

* passing - On passes, not every pass is a completion or interception. There are overthrows and underthrows. QBs often just miss their target or the target drops the ball. Also, there are a lot more knockdowns and far fewer interceptions. Every QB can make every throw in the game ... that's just absurd. Also, as mentioned in the o-line part, QBs should be penalized for running around in the pocket. Both in their passing ability and in d-line pursuit. It is just frustrating to watch a QB like Tebow run around for 20 seconds and keep dropping back until coverage breaks down.

* running - A consistent and strong run game should wear down defenses. It should tire them out. Also, RB speed is way out of proportion to the rest of the stats. There are so many types of running backs and not all of them using blazing speed to do things.

* 4th downs - Penalize the offense unless the play is a legitimate play in which a team would actually go for it on fourth down. Why? Because going for it on 4th down should be a rare occurrence and 4th and 20 should not be an easy thing to do. Either that or change the online play to force punts unless it is late 4th QTR, yardage is shorter than 2 or score is lopsided.

* penalties - have some.

* playbooks - these are the same offenses and defenses I see year in and year out. How about actually giving teams and formations the time and effort they deserve? I know it's a lot more testing, but it's so worth it to see Florida run plays like Florida and Bama play defense like Bama.

* grey shirting - This tactic is becoming more used and it should be in the game.

* rosters - Why limit the initial rosters? There are far more active players on a team than we are in NCAA09.

* goal line pile dive && QB sneak animations - There should be an animation for this rather than allowing the player to cheese the system. A QB sneak in this game is near impossible to stop for less than a 2 yard gain. That's ridiculous. A QB sneak is a play designed for less than 1 yard. If we want player control, run it like an option, should the player choose the straight dive they push forward, otherwise they can try to roll to the outside.

* clock management - How about a "turbo clock" button so that we can speed through the final minute of the game if we are trying to run out the clock or if we are a team that prides itself on clock control?

* reduce speed impact - Flat out speed is great, but it's rare to see any major D1 school get torched like what happens in this game. I'll play as Bama and run a quarters and watch as my corners and deep safeties get blazed on. Or watch RBs take a corner and fly by my secondary. Or QBs that outrun d-linemen with angles. Speed needs to be equalized and the impact toned down.
