Just appears to be another case of Gamestop trying to push the xbox 360. He probably tells everyone buying the PS3 version its being discontinued.

yeah when he said it i kinda looked at him weird, but then he just kept on going asking me if i wanted to pre order madden and call of duty. there was another kid behind me who was gettin NCAA to but i didnt see if he heard the guy say it, and i didnt hear him say anything like that to him either

The guy shouldn't have said it was discontinued... it makes him sound stupid.

But the reality is that they only ordered X of them and aren't planning on ordering any more.

I work in retail (we sell games but we aren't exactly competing with any game stores) and I know we're only getting one shipment of Madden this year due to getting way too many copies of '09 and not being able to sell them last year.
