Exactly. They just need to get back the features the old games had instead of making stuff like Season Showdown that has no real effect on gameplay.

Take your pick. Season Showdown, or medical redshirts and sanctioning?

They need to take the NHL 08 approach and take a year off from adding features, and just fix the gameplay. That's the main reason NHL 09 was Sports GOTY and NHL 10 will likely be even better.

Well, at some point we're gonna get a revolutionary new engine -- probably by the time the PS4 and Xbox 3 come out.

Until then, both Madden and NCAA will always play roughly the same. There's only so much you can do to the same old engine, you know?

At some point, these games will get a new engine, IMHO it's time. But other poster is right, that will force us right back to a basic game initially with no full feature sets.

They could always put out NCAA 11 while working on a new engine. No new gimmicks, fix the glitches, update everything. Sure, people will cry and moan about it, but I'll take that if we get a new engine for 12.

It would be 2006/2007 all over again if they scrap the engine now.....All they need to do is read the 700 Threads on Operation Sports and apply it to the game and it would be fine...ALL THE ANSWERS ARE RIGHT HERE IN BLACK AND WHITE, EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM IN GREAT DETAIL IS LISTED, they just don't care...Deadlines and Bottom Lines is all they are worried about.....$$$$$$ is the only thing that concerns them at this point..

By the time they get NCAA right, it will be time for the PS4 to come out, then back to square one again....

Only thing that will fix NCAA is COMPETITION FROM ANOTHER COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2004 is arguably the best football game of all time. Triburon went and changed the engine for 2005. After that engine change I thought the series went down hill. 2005 was a disaster. 2006 was better, but still not a good game and no where near the game play value that was 2004. 2007 was again just an extension of 2006 which wasn't a very good game. 2005 2006 and 2007 were the beginning of the gimmick BS. I still see momentum, impact players as gimmicks.

I base my thoughts on how the game plays against human opponents and not against the CPU. Playing the CPU has just been no competition until 2010. 2006 and 2007 may have been great against the CPU, but for human competition they sucked.

I think the NCAA team will never get away from the gimmicks because if they just focused on gameplay, the reviewers would say its the same ole game and the NCAA team doesnt want that. They feel they need to add fluff to make people buy it. I would do anything to get to the level of the ps2 games.
