Re: The NCAA F-U Game

All the things you guys have mentioned have happened in real games. The CPU seems to get up for certain games more than others, but that happens in real life too. I'm definitely not saying you don't have a right to express what you're seeing, but without video it's hard to say that your conclusion is justifiable. What happens in a game where the CPU doesn't cheat? Do the CPU players drop passes and fumble? It's frustrating to lose but when the situation flips I don't see any "CPU AI is too passive" threads swirling around.

Re: The NCAA F-U Game

I'd like to think I have a pretty good example of this from the other night.

I'm in year 8 or 9 of my Marshall Dynasty.I've recruited to the point that I'm an A in Offense and a A- in Defense. This team is stacked beyond belief.

After struggling early in the season with 28-26 and 28-25 wins over Uconn and Notre Dame, I go on a roll just destroying the conference. Scores for the next 6 games or so were something like 56-7, 63-21, etc. My quarterback had thrown for 10 touchdowns in 5 games, my runningback already had 1200 yards and 7 touchdowns along with 0 fumbles. Along with that my wide receivers were just lights out. A few drops every now and then but thats to be expected.

Then I get to the Southern Mississippi game, who had regressed to maybe a C overall. They were averaging something like 17 points a game but did not have a strong defense(something like 100th in the country). Not too good, right?

Somehow this team is able to just destroy me the whole game. The quarterback goes 20-23, 270+ yards passing. Their running back lit me up for 150 yards. I lost 24-10. I ended the game with 7 turnovers, 5 of which was in the redzone. It would have been a whole lot worse if not for my defense getting 2 turnovers in the <10 yard line.

Normally I wouldnt have a problem with this as high powered offenses can be contained, but its the way it happened. My deadly accurate qb goes 9-45 with 4 interceptions(3 of which on the 10 yard line or less). My all-american halfback fumbles the ball away 4 times(twice in the red zone). My wide receivers combined for, get this, 20 drops.

It got to the point that I could basically predict what was going to happen once I got on my opponents side of the field. The sad thing is, I was right a majority of the time. It was absolutely disgusting. To say that the computer doesn't cheat to win games is just stupid.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe in the loading screen you see a screen where the CPU is talking pre-game trash and then you get in game and notice all the CPU players' ratings are maxed while yours are zeroed out. To make matters worse the CPU also has mutant abilities.
For real though, these threads are way beyond old. No issues are brought up and it just comes across as an excuse for not winning. Hint: If you don't want a challenge play on Varsity or even Beginner.
Loved the cpu trash talking part.

PS - calling out robo-qb, F-U games, or saying the computer cheats is a cop-out. Don't let the game beat you, then get mad and post stuff about how the cpu cheats...if you can't take a loss...read the above i quoted. Either way, however you do it, just have fun with the game...or go beat up Jeff Hardy in a one on trio match...Jeff being the one lol...always brightens my day to beat up a drug abuser who looks like a flaming idiot lol.

But that's just the point - we're not "letting" the CPU wins these kinds of games. The CPU decides its going to win, and it wins, no matter how ridiculously blatant its cheating must be. Believe me, I've had my lunch eaten several times in a fair manner, and I don't complain. But I've also lost to a CPU that had already predetermined it was going to win. I can tell the difference.

Re: The NCAA F-U Game

All in all, I havent witnessed it. I know I'm a horrible passer lol, so me throwing 3-5 ints is pretty commonplace, so I cant vouch that the cpu decides to win by picking me off more than normal...i play decent d and have a good run game. Ive never (rather rarely?, never's too strong, at least haven't had one i remember) had a game out of the ordinary with fumbles or nothing.

Oh, and when I said don't let the game beat ya, I meant mentally. If you're too worried about how the computer is gonna cheat, you're not attending to your gameplan, or paying attention to the game itself at hand. Its like you're looking for it to happen. And a few of us are the opposite, we feel it plays a good game, so thats what we're expecting, that's what we get.

I played a game in an OD last weekend against the CPU (sliders based off fists Heisman sliders) played #21 Clemson (cpu) with Buffalo...I went in thinking I was gonna get killed, so I played that way. Halfassed it with my playcalls, let Corso call D after I was down 21...lost by damn near 40...

I hope I'm not sounding insulting to you guys who do see the "robo qb's, and the F-U's" they may be there, but if you change your perspective, maybe it'll be less noticeable, and more fun.

OR PLAY JEFF HARDY IN AN INFERNO MATCH AND SET HIM ON FIRE!!!!! Yeaaaaah....I think I need to write a storyline for Jeff becoming a jobber/everyone's whipping boy! Trust me it takes out some frustration. lol

I am very good and very rarely lose. In fact, I don't lose. The F-U CPU games are there. Even when I win I see it.

Re: The NCAA F-U Game

My cousin had a game sewn up the other night, picked off the other team in the endzone with 17 seconds left which leaves him up by 3. He gets cute and tries to up the score on them by throwing the ball down the field only he throws a pick and they bring it back to the house. He deserved to lose that game. He does stuff like that all the time to up his stats and it finally came back and bit him.
