Uh, no. What you see in this game when the CBs mirror the receiver is not "jumping the route." Jumping the route is usually recognizing the route, getting in between the QB and the WR, then smothering the receiver with good coverage. Jumping the route often leads to picks if it's a quick slant and the QB gets rid of the ball nearly immediately (think the pick-six in the Super Bowl). Jumping the route does not mean you start moving in a particular direction 1,2 or even 3 steps in front of the receiver and run the route perfectly. It would be stupid for a back to do this, even on a basic route like a quick slant, since he would have no way of knowing the exact angle the receiver is going to take, and the receiver could very easily just stop and start moving the other way.
And furthermore, the mirroring happens on just about every route, even the ones where the CB would be doomed if he guessed wrong (but never does).
