Acceleration/Burst after Juke or Catch

I'm gonna try and post some videos (if someone could give me a tip how to do that, thanks) but I'm having difficulty getting the ball carrier going AFTER the catch or juke/cut/spin. When I'm on defense, the CPU catches everything mid-stride and just flies down the field, no slowing down, nothing. When I catch the ball, it's like I'm running in mud or carrying a ten pound weight and if I make a move, forget about it, it's like asking to be tackled.

Also, how often you break huge kickoff/punt returns? Is there a strategy to it or do I just need a bit of luck?

Re: Acceleration/Burst after Juke or Catch

Punt returns are mostly luck, or at least I don't know of any strategy. As for kickoff returns, I can break one off for a TD every once in a while by starting up the middle, then breaking to the outside just as my blockers get to the coverage team. You need a high speed/acceleration player though because it seems like the CPU can turn and cut without losing as much speed as your player does, which is frustrating.

It seems like Madden did a good job of getting WRs into the open field by letting them accelerate out of cuts. I agree it's harder in NCAA.
