Surprisingly (sarcasm) Alabama is dominating the recruiting. I'll give a full update around season 20.

Here is the actual data compiled from Rivals. Covers 2006-2011. Important takeaways... In real life, 36 different schools pulled at least 1 5* during last 6 seasons (vs. 22 in NCAA). Not bad, but needs some tuning. Doing the simple math you can see that even USC at the top of the list only pulled 3-4 5* per year. Most schools get 1 maybe 2.

USC 22
Florida 18
Alabama 12
LSU 12
Texas 10
Florida St 9
Notre Dame 9
Ohio State 9
Clemson 7
Georgia 7
Oklahoma 6
Tennessee 6
Miami 5
Michigan 4
Auburn 3
Oregon 3
UNC 3
Arkansas 2
California 2
Colorado 2
Missouri 2
South Carolina 2
Arizona State 1
Ole Miss 1
Michigan St 1
NC State 1
Nebraska 1
Penn State 1
Pittsburgh 1
Southern Miss 1
Texas A&M 1
UCLA 1
Wisconsin 1
West Virginia 1
Illinois 1
Va Tech 1

Nice.

I think the bigger issue with the recruiting isn't that the 5-star players go power (though as time wears on, it gets ridiculous), but that the powers get the top recruits (4- or 5-star) at every position, every season. Add to that the way they progress, and it seems as though a bunch of high schools are competing against top tier, NFL competition.

NOTE:
The 40-year update is coming. I've had a crazy two weeks, and it's not getting any better. Will do my best to get it up shortly.

I'm in year 2057 and Texas has a 154 game home win streak at the top of the toughest places to play. Anytime I try to schedule a game there to try and end it the game changes it to a home game for me.

Re: 30 year update: The sometimes absurd nature of NCAA 11

I'm in year 25,

top records:
Alabama 320-30 (5 nat. titles)
Texas 317-31 (0 titles)
Miami 319-34 (0 titles)
USC 295-39 (5 titles)
Oklahoma 292 - 51 (1 title)

I started at Wyoming and stayed for 9 years, the funny thing is, they continue to stay in the top 25 even after 16 years of me being gone (how weird is that). I tend to switch teams and all of them are in the top 25 still (UCLA #24, N. Texas #22, Rutgers #11, Wyoming #18)

Recruiting is still all jacked up and the same teams are in the top 5 every year

I find it funny that Miami is such a beastly team in your Dynasty's... They are very middle of the road in mine (I'm in 2020). They've won the ACC once, maybe?

With the variations in simulation results, everybody has that one school that's "elite" and probably shouldn't be. I'm 12 years into a teambuilder dynasty, got invited to the ACC and I'm a monster in recruiting, so I'm essentially sucking the life out of the conference. But Penn State is just ridiculous and it's not even fair. In real life, Joe Pa would have died by now and with it, the PSU program. Ohio State is some how a 4 star program? With Tressel still coaching? Not a chance...

check wishlist sub forum and look at "A coaching carousel" thread. A very in depth thread about how to implement a coaching carousel. Right now I'm stuck on how to make some of the formulas.
