curious/confused
I come on this site almost daily, but never post. It amazes me how some, actually, many people on this site can get so excited for a game they want it early, only to complain after the game comes out that the game is broken, unplayable, etc. said people will then threaten to trade the game in if a patch is not released soon, and then once the patch is released, they state that the game was better prior to the patch.
I am just as excited for ncaa 12 as anyone. I get the game every year, and hope that each installment is exactly what i am looking for in a college football game, however, it never is, nor will it ever be. I played the demo, and feel the game is good. However, the game still has flaws. I challenge you to play as Oregon if you have not, and then watch a real game and see if the spread in the game is even close as effective as it is in real life. It's not!
On a positive note, though, quarterbacks do appear to scramble when pressured, there are new animations that look great, the graphics are beautiful, coaching carousel is in, team specific entrances are in, and there are other items that make a purchase enticing.
However, again, I do not see the point of getting the game early. Patches will be needed, players will have to be named, and as mentioned, at this point, the game comes out in less than a week. I just don't see the point.
As mentioned, I guarantee there will be more people on release day and thereafter, stating this game is a dissappointment. They then will threaten to never buy the game again, and propose we all never purchase this nor any ea sports game again. I just don't get??
With all that said, I understand the developers work hard to give us the best representation of college football possible, however, many times they fail to fix issues that are clearly brought to their attention. If certain things cannot be corrected for whatever reason, it would be nice if they could at least address there is an issue, and state it cannot be fixed.
My intent is not to sound negative, but ultimately, the game will always be good enough to purchase, but never good enough to completely satisfy everyone. To me, there are always great aspects to the game, but for every great aspect, there is always a nagging issue. For example, in both 2010 and 2011 editions, outside of maybe 10-15 quarterbacks, most every qb's simulated stats were below 50%. Many in the low 40's high 30's. To some this can be overlooked, however, for true fans, how can this be ignored. This does not happen in real life. I'm not sure how hard it is to get accurate simulated stats, however, I'm sure it is possible as it does not occur in Madden (that game is a whole other story though). Or, what about the kicking situation last year with kickers missing extra points consistantly a few years into dynasty. Sure, college kickers miss extra points, but not too regularly. Also, they all can kick up to a distance of 50 yards, just not accurately. Too many people reported that kickers were not making the distance to 35 yard field goals.
Anyway, to those greatly anticipating the games release, I hope the game is everything and more in regards to satisfying your excitement. However, I'm sure I will soon be reading that this game is not worth a purchase.
