Haha the funny thing is that in my Colorado dynasty game, the CPU had Buffalo have an undefeated season and go as high as 11th in the rankings. Then the MAC championship game featured a one loss Toledo (who lost to #3 Texas 34-27) play undefeated Buffalo. I kept a close eye on them cause It was too good to be true. Long story short, Buffalo lost and I cant recall if Toledo got into a BCS game....

For the toughest challenge you need to pick a 1* that isnt located in good recruiting grounds. You have to eliminate any schools from CA, TX, or FL. Even though there is a lot of in state comp, there is such an abundance of talent that will easily let you land a team of 3* players. I dont know which school it would be, but whomever isnt in those states and doesnt have a pipeline to any of them..........thats your toughest team to build up.

I'd say the hardest three teams to build up would all be WAC "survivors", Utah State, New Mexico State, and Idaho.

Consider what they have to deal with....

Poor dying conference
Horrible in state talent
Secondary school in their state Idaho < Boise State, New Mexico State < New Mexico ( I know that isn't saying much.....), Utah State < BYU < Utah
Poor recruiting pitches in academics, campus lifestyle, and program stability.

They really have nothing going for them, maybe they have California and Texas as pipeline states but have fun fighting just about every school in the region for the 1 star and 2 star leftovers.

But also you'd have to play the likes of Bama, Arkansas,Florida,South Carolina, etc. every year or other year.
As a Vanderbilt alum/fan, I always run an intial Dynasty with them and while it is definitely tough to at first, the fact you are in the SEC helps out tremendously in recruiting since that's an A or A+ pitch. also you are an A+ in academics, so I'm able to land some good recruits off those pitches alone. Also, although Tennesse isn't a great recruiting state, there's okay talent there and you usually start out with Alabama and/or georgia as a pipeline state based on the players on the current roster. So after a few seasons, I'm usually a top dog in the SEC east (along with Florida) and battling Alabama in the SEC championship game each year it seems.

Once I win a championship (takes about 5 years or so of good recruiting), I usually then move on to a 1* team in a bad conference & bad recruiting state for more of a challenge. I think the combo of bad team/bad conference/bad recruiting state is a tougher challenge than a bad team/good conference or bad team/bad conference/good recruiting state. Just my opinion.

Yes, my education should be expanded to which terrible teams are not in a college football video game. I must be incredibly unintelligent, seeing as i live in Australia, only started watching college football last year and i have only ever played with Notre Dame in previous titles.

I'm going to say from my personal experience...

1. Eastern Michigan - The state of Michigan always has a good amount of recruits each year, but with 5 FBS schools, EMU usually gets the 1*/2* scraps.

2. Idaho - Boise St. / PAC-12 gets the best of in-state talent.

3. New Mexico / New Mexico St. - Not a lot of quality recruits in-state.

Re: Hardest team to turn into a 6 star team?

I ran a dynasty with Tulane and while there was some difficulty picking up the top in-state talent (Dealing with LSU and surrounding powers), it wasn't that hard to bring them up. Tulane has some good qualities.. The same couldn't be said when I played with Idaho. I couldn't get any more than a two star per year to save my life.. SMH.. everybody bolted to Boise and all the Pac-10(12) schools..

Best answer IMO. Add Wyoming as the top four.
4 - Wyoming
3 - Utah State
2 - Idaho
1 - New Mexico State
