Forgot about Frank Gore too. So you had Clinton Protis, Willis McGahee, Najeh Davenort, and Frank Gore. Hard to top that.

If that is true, then the second back is highly overrated imo.

Sure, Wilson is a complete beast (future Heisman anyone? ) but there really isn't anyone standing out behind him right now.

I'm a homer, too, but any time you have two first round picks (one who won the Heisman and another who is just as good) you've got to be considered.

Oregon, Wisconsin, Alabama, Texas A&M and Auburn are all great choices.

Oh wait, the theme of this topic is homerism....Why get a 1-2 punch when you can have THREE Options? I kid I kid.

Yeah... That's pretty beastly.

I love the direction that this thread has taken -- fans making their case for some of the best college backfields of all-time when the thread was originally about the best backfields this year...

Not hating, just kind of amused about that.

Anyway, I think people will have a tough time arguing against Oregon. For as much as I hate them, their backfield is ridiculous. James, Barner, Seastrunk and possibly Thomas... Anyone would be hard pressed to find a backfield with that much talent and depth.
