Most people already play with certain "rules" in their dynasties to make them more realistic, i.e. punting in your own zone ALWAYS, not running 4 vert every play, only using PA after establishing a run game, etc. etc.

In RTG, simply set basic rules to go by. The first and most obvious.. dont buy the ridiculously inflated boost pack! Its not like you choose to buy a mystery pack and then it automatically applies the 99s and your stuck. It shows you exactly what happens when you purchase it. If more realistic progression is what you are looking for, don't buy ANY packs whatsoever. I'd like to see what the progression looks like in that case.

To be honest I am now thinking I might just skipped RTG altogeather. It just doesn't look like RTG is balanced at all.

I was on the fence about what to do first. Play as a Pocket Passing QB in RTG or play as a Offensive Cordinator at Oklahoma in Coach Mode. I have decided that Offensive Cordinator at Oklahoma in Coach Mode is the way to go, and I may not even bother with RTG at all now.
