1. Arc is added to all passes: bullets can get in over the LBs that used to be batted/picked off and touch passes and be dropped in over the secondary that used to be batted down.

2. Receivers on crossing routes are hit more in stride. For whatever reason with standard passes guys would lose 2 yards on their route with the catch animation but holding L2 seems to prevent yardage loss. The animations don't look noticeably different to me but the results are consistent.

3. Receivers are WAY more aggressive. For whatever reason guys seem to be going out and getting the ball and not waiting for it to be batted/picked.

I'm wondering if those that are not seeing any difference are users who already perform manual catching? I think we are all using different sliders, gameplay habits, etc. which make testing this scientifically not that easy to do.

My thought is that guys who switch to the receiver already make up for a lot of the AI shortcomings so don't see as significant a difference.

As already mentioned this is a great find by MagicMan and Chia you deserve thanks for some serious research! You both have my thanks and gratitude.
This is exactly what I am 'feeling' and 'seeing'.

To Bumble,

What about the video evidence towards the beginning of the thread? What about all the people seeing the difference?

I have a feeling (and I could be wrong) that if 50 people came to you and said "hey, we just saw Bigfoot, captured a picture and a short film" you would still not believe that Bigfoot existed.

Like many have stated already, I feel as though it works 'better' on certain types of passes/routes... Corners, Fades, Post, Outs.

Re: Important: L2/LT Button

I would not be surprised to see that a couple lines of old code remain and are playing a role in the spectacular catch ratings of receivers. Because we all can't debate the code was there, so now the question remains "was it removed entirely?"

You are talking about a complex collaboration of codes which gets adjusted and changed every year. So the likely hood it getting left in even in a bare form is highly possible!

So EA comes out and says LT/L2 does nothing, yet you guys claim it does. What possible reason would they have to lie about this?

I'm happy that you guys believe you are seeing a difference. As long as you are enjoying your game that is all that matters.

Also, where are the videos? I've read just about every page on this thread and have not seen any.

No conspiracy, I'm sure. But yes, I am glad to see that this extra element is in the game, so once again, EA, please don't patch this out!

This is like finding an extra $20 bill in the laundry.

They probably have no idea it's there.

Re: Important: L2/LT Button

I experimented with it, and the first time I tried it the linebacker swatted it down. Second time, ball was thrown at helmet level. Third time, knee level.

Forgot to try after that, but that's all I have so far.
