And unless some major shakeup happens at EA Sports and Team Tiburon gets a load of cash and talent thrown their way, it isn't gonna happen. They simply don't have the man-power to keep putting out a yearly product and rebuild the game.

Next gen is no hope at all. All EA does is take existing code and modify it. You know how we keep seeing updates breaking existing features? It is because of the architecture of the application. You should NEVER break a feature by modifying or implementing a new feature. That is piss poor architecture of a code base.

EA needs to start from scratch. They need to rewrite a base framework that allows for use of object oriented programming and stop using procedural code from 1998. Then they can stop wasting time on refactoring old code and fixing features that they broke by implementing new features.

I'm an OO developer so the last thing I want to do is put blame on the developers. I understand deadlines and time constraints. I'm sure they do a great job with the little time they have before having to put out a new product annually or deploy a patch/tuner. This needs to come from higher up. A project manager or director who either:

1. highers more resources to work on a new code base
2. stop fixing/implementing new features and use existing resources to work on new code base

What I can't stand is in the game you see every other pass getting batted out of the air before it even gets near the reciever (sometimes because the reciever doesn't even try to catch the pass) but watching a real game you see only a few batted passes in the entire game, its a WR-DB battle for the ball, somebody makes a play on the ball instead of allowing it to just fall into place

In a real game, the ball gets floated over the LOS and LBs on those 10-15yd passes, in the game the ball is thrown head-high on bullet passes in reach for everyone but the floater passes also allow anyone in the area to close and defend the pass... if it isn't an open slant route, then there is a good chance the pass isn't making it to the reciever

there was that one play where the DT deflected the pass back in the Miss. St. QB's face but how often do you see that happen in real life? Its a rare thing.. not in the game
