A realistic touch with top 25 rankings

In my Missouri Tigers dynasty I recently defeated Texas who were 1-2 at that time 23-20 in 4OT with the #1 Missouri Tigers.
I was a comfortable #1 in dynasty, with wins over top 10 competition #5 Georgia, #9 Boise State, and #2 Michigan. Then I struggle against Texas, and two teams (#2 Oregon, #3 Auburn) leap me despite not having played ranked teams. Oregon beat CSU, and Auburn throttled Vanderbilt. Neither game was close, but still to be leaped with that body of work reminded me of how fickle voters are, so I liked the realistic touch but at the same time it annoyed me as a player. Which it should, I was coaching the #1 team in the nation and now we are #3. Reminds me of Oklahoma..

Anyone else had that happen to them?

Re: A realistic touch with top 25 rankings

In my offline Auburn dynasty I've experienced this often. I may be mistaken, but I believe the schedule strength grade is dynamic, affected within the season by the up/down movement of the ranked teams you've beaten. Maybe UGA was #5 when you played them, but if they've lost several more games and dropped from the poll, I believe it decreases your schedule strength.
I'll also add, though, that when I've dropped from the top spot, I've nearly been able to predict it weeks in advance. I can see the love the CPU 'pollsters' are giving to a team or two which is creeping up on me. Then I'll see a top-5 match-up in a week I'm playing an unranked squad and know that I'm going to drop in the polls. Just last season Penn St jumped from 3 to 1 after one of those wins while I was trouncing an 0-10 UGA team.
BUT, it also seems that the CPU grants payback as quite often that team will lose a week or two later. Plus, in my case with the SEC, winning the conference title game always assures the boost needed to climb back into at least the #2 spot, making it to the BCS title game.

Re: A realistic touch with top 25 rankings

You might be right about the dynamic schedule strength.
Michigan and Boise were still top 15 though, and Auburn had no top 25 opponents still. I don't mind it though, I was going into a 2 bye week stretch anyway so I would have gotten passed regardless. Luckily those weeks come in handy, my star QB and HB are injured
