In modern TV terms, 7 years is an ancient dinosaur.

Heck, the first Blu-ray disc was released after you bought your television and, depending on when you bought your TV, the XBOX 360 was either brand spankin' new or just a rumor.

I hate to break it to you, but your tv is old.

Re: Bottom Line Ticker Not Showing Up in Demo

Prices of TV's are down huge. I bought a 26" Vizio in February for $300?

I was at Walmart the other day and a 32" Vizio was $199. They also had a 19" HDTV (Sansui) for $79. If you play games enough, the upgrade to HDTV is well worth it.

Relating back though, my ticker is on from start to finish in dynasty games, but like others have said it could be an issue with SD/Hd or wide screen settings.

My parents have a few TVs, 2 of which are both over 20 years old (one has got to be close to 30 by now) and still work, though they have to have special equipment to pick up any signals these days due to the move to different broadcasting. Their main TV is only a few years old though. A TV I had as a kid lasted nearly 15 years before it bit the dust a few years back. I know quite a few people with TVs several years old. These aren't computers we're talking about. Seven years is not exactly brand new but it's not that old either. I could afford a rather cheap new TV, but why bother if the one I've got is still working good?

At any rate, I don't see why it should mean there's no ticker to be put on the screen. This is the first game I've ever played where I'm missing an actual gameplay feature simply for not having a widescreen TV. All real TV tickers fit on there quite well so this is a problem with EA only, and this game only.

I can theoretically change my Xbox to widescreen but everything looks really skinny and the ticker is just barely visible anyway so it's kind of pointless.

The ticker not appearing is something I'm very unsure on. However, the ticker will not appear in exhibition games as the whole purpose of the ticker is to keep you up to date on games going on across the country. An exhibition game is just an isolated game.

I didn't say it wasn't a great TV that didn't work, just that it's old in terms of televisions nowadays. I'd say that if you don't have a television that can show at least 720p, then your television is old. I have old televisions still in my house I use all the time and they work great and one is easily 20 years old. However, I wouldn't say anything if I used that television for watching Blu-Rays and the old television cut off the edges of the picture. If you want 100% access to HD programming and gaming, I'd tell you to get a new television that can show off that technology.

And it isn't a gameplay feature. It's an aesthetic feature. It doesn't add or subtract from actually playing the game. You can still play the game but you just wont' be able to see the ticker. It's not like it's cutting off the QB and Center.

I'm sorry you can't see the ticker, it's pretty cool. But if you're going to use a television that doesn't have HD capabilities then I wouldn't expect everything in this generation of gaming/video to work correctly. I'm honestly surprised you haven't had any issues with things missing up to this point.

I'm having this same problem on the early pass, not working a 19" HD monitor (not widescreen).
Got a 50" HDTV I can play on but the gf and son wont like me being on it much.... sucks.

Re: Bottom Line Ticker Not Showing Up in Demo

Going back to this. At first I played on a relatively small TV. So I can maybe understand why the ticker wasn't showing up. So now I just played the demo again (I didn't get Season Ticket) and played on my 65" Toshiba TV, which according to BA2929, is old because I've had it for about 7 years. I started playing the demo and of course the ticker doesn't appear. So I go to the display settings on my Xbox and change it from normal to widescreen. Everything looks skinny and when I play the demo now, the ticker is cut off halfway at the bottom. I really don't know what to do now. The reason why I may sound frustrated is because this was one of the features I was really looking forward to. And I don't want to pay over $100 to get a TV just so I can see this ticker either.
