The indoor lighting finally looks good. The dynamic sunset or whatever its called is nice. The crowd is a little better. But those things should have already been there.

Re: What are some good things about NCAA 13?

1. New passing game. Now if I throw an INT, it is almost always because I made a stupid/poorly placed throw. Not because the game decided I had to throw one at the time.

2. No super-linebackers. I can now throw over the linebackers and into the secondary without having to worry about 46 inch verticals.

3. Recruiting and scouting. Much more realistic, and I have gotten some great and interesting results so far.

4. Punt coverage. As stated earlier, I have seen much more realistic returns. Not perfect, but a solid improvement.

5. ESPN ticker/score updates. I know that many have complained about various aspects of this, but it is still pretty dang awesome to watch. It gives you more of an emotional investment into the other games to see the score change and hear about the potential effects it could have on your dynasty. Not to mention that there are times when I actually feel like I am watching a game since they added this. It isn't some cheap gimmick, it actually really adds to the atmosphere.

6. Variable pitches/simulated draft. It's a lot of fun and a lot more realistic this way. Although there are occasionally boneheaded things with the logic, it is still an improvement.

So far, I have had a lot more fun with this iteration than last year. Definitely not a perfect game by any stretch of the word, but still a solid game for me. They need to improve on the following in the next game for sure:

1. OL-DL interaction. Yes.

2. Running game. It has turned stale.

3. Blocked kicks/punts. Non-existent except for in sim.

4. Offseason. Spring games/workout warriors/year-round recruiting, etc.

Stop being debbie downers, everybody! I understand if you have freezing issues, but otherwise I feel that there has been steady improvement from last year.

Re: What are some good things about NCAA 13?

The best things I've noticed so far. I haven't jumped into a Dynasty yet, so I'm not sure how those new bits shake out.

- New passing. You can actually throw OVER defenders now. Psychic corners are still there, many times they run the exact route before the receiver does, but it's a hell of a lot more manageable than it was last year. Easily the biggest problem in '12.

- Lighting. Snow/indoor games aren't blue anymore!! In fact, I think ther game looks better in these lighting conditions than it does at high noon daylight.

- Changing lighting. The day progresses much more naturally. Almost to the point where you don't really notice it until all the sudden the field is a lot shadowier than it was at kickoff.

- White TB helmets. They're not gray anymore! Not a big deal to many, but it sure was annoying.

- Rece Davis. While his pre-game spiel is repetitive, it gives the game more of an ESPN-like feel. Which is good, considering that's what they're going for.

I find it amusing that the OS icon for NAU is 20 years (and three rebrands!) out of date.

I don't see the psychic DBs. I've seen DBs jump routes, but I've exploited it too. IMO, people are running the same plays over and over and the CPU is seeing it.

It's is in many cases last years game with updated rosters.
Reaction time is fine but you begin to feel like its cheating.
The scouting in Dynasty is pretty cool one of those things you wished they thought of years ago.
