Re: Slide Protect

I don't see much of a difference on run plays, but I do see a difference on pass plays. Definitely use it to protect against blitzes off the edge.

Re: Slide Protect

When I use slide protect on runs my runs ALWAYS get blown up in the backfield. It never fails. On stretch plays I want my line to stretch to that side of the field. Now I know this happens on some stretch plays because the Colts were infamous for using it. Same results. Always getting blown up in the backfield. We did not have really good run blockers though. I personally do not think it works on run plays unless you are going up the middle using aggressive or pinch. Sliding left and right I do not think works very well at all. On pass plays it is a beauty and works perfectly. I am pretty sure it works well on draw plays because like someone stated earlier that the linemen are in pass protect during draw plays. There were a lot of people have trouble with the blitzing aspect of the game, but when I use slide protect now I have greater results in my passing game.

The Colts were a pin and pull team.
