What is Wrong with Coach Prestige?

I think it has to do with all of the head coach goals that are 'each year'. Here is what happened to mine (UTSA dynasty):

Year 1 - D(something) to start - 1 yr contract - I met most but not all goals, ended at ~60% security.

Year 2 - New 3 year contract - Started at D+, ended at C- (met most attainable 1 year goals, lots of 'each year' pending

Year 3 - Year 2/3 of contract - Started D+ again, ended C- again (no goals failed, no new ones met).

Year 4 - Year 3/3 of contract - started C-, ended at A+ (all goals now met, 0 failed, bonus pts for winning bowl game & conf champ - hidden goal)

Year 5 - Year 1/3 of new contract - started B+, ended B+ (no goals failed, most 1 yr goals met) Won conf champ, lost bcs bowl game. NOTE -on this contract, i passed only 5 goals, and have 8 pending (7/8 are 'each year' and can't be passed yet)

Year 6 - I start at a C- ????WTF?????


So some things I'm taking away from it:

- it is greatly tied to passing/failing goals
- winning / losing your bowl game is huge
- not passing long term goals is severely hurting you and lowering your prestige - which is rediculous

Each season I would say was an overachievement based on my prestige, my teams ratings / rank - yet my prestige has gone down. It makes absolutely no sense. The only 'bad' thing I have done is to lose a BCS bowl in year 5 of a UTSA dynasty - I think that should be a major win - not a detriment to your rating.

The 1st photo is at the end of 2018 season (7 seasons), coach prestige during Offseason Recruiting.

The 2nd photo is during preseason recruiting in 2019. This is after completing 15 of 16 contract goals (only failed goal had no negative points attached to it), keeping all of my promises, going 14-0 and winning a 2nd straight NC and signing a new contract.

Two theories:
1. Cutting players affects prestige, as I made 7 cuts in the off-season.
2. It is just broken.

Both theories are disturbing because there is nothing that can be done on our end. I never over-sign a recruiting class (I find making cuts to be tedious), but the CPU auto-signs 4-8 recruits on signing day, which creates a need to cut players (usually btw 5-10).

I am leaning towards the 2nd theory because of the evidence in the 3rd photo for Pro Potential. ASU shows two 1st rounds, zero 2nd, 2 third, and eight 4-7th.

In fact, in the previous year alone, I had four 1st rounders, two 3rd rounders and four 4-7th rounders.

Both Coach Prestige and Pro Potential seem to be broken.

Its tied to your sportsmanship grade during the game. Running up the score and going for it on 4th down will always go against your Coaching Prestige.

I'm in my 4th season at WKU and my prestige has grown steadily from a D/D+ to B+, I did notice that IN ONE WEEK it dropped from a B+ to a B, and that was the week where I scored a TD under a minute in the game already up 21 points.

Could've been a coincidence, but I wonder about sportsmanship, as well.

There is definitely something wrong with prestige rating system.

I started out as a offensive coordinator for Texas St and for some reason I started out as a B prestige, when I had never coached a game. I thought you were supposed to start out as a D prestige? So I played my season moved up to an A+ throughout the season, and then one week just fell down to an A for no apparent reason. I took Texas St to the sugar bowl and lost, so I fell down to a B again. Then in the offseason, I went down to a B-. I then took the head coach job at Texas st. During my offseason recruiting, my coach prestige remained at a B-. However, once i got into the next season and started preseason recruiting, my prestige fell down to a D+. I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen

Maybe your prestige drops when you go from coordinator to head coach. Like the D- is your head coach prestige.

Once you sign a new contract your prestige goes down. It has to be a bug, but if you sign an extension or a new contract it goes back to the default C+. I noticed this once I got my coach to A+ I signed a new contract and I fell back to C+. I reloaded my save, passed on the new contract, and I stayed at A+.
