Stopping the read option...I CAN'T STOP IT!! Is it a glitch???

In real life we just bring down extra edge players (overhang) or gap exchange the c gap and b gap players. In essence slant your defensive line away from the back in shotgun and control the linebacker that is aligned to cover the area between the guard and tackle (b gap) that are on the same side as the running back. Let your de slant into the b gap and scrape the linebacker into the c gap. Don't get to outside with the scrape and don't aim for his inside shoulder but for his outside shoulder

Online I don't know but in coach mode I spy the quarterback, recruit outstanding linebackers and don't have a lot of trouble with it.

The problem I have is that they still haven't fixed that the QB literally has a invulnerability bubble around him following (and during) the handoff of a read option. So If you get a great jump off the line, and try to hit the QB during the handoff, you just slide off (around) him. You have to basically keep running into him during the handoff, and that's hard because you have to change directions to keep up with him running away.

FIX THIS **** EA.

nice analogy, but the jargon may throw some people off. not everyone played football, unfortunately
