I'm a Penn State fan and have ties to that university, but miami is my #1 so I will admit I don't follow or know every detail of spring practices etc about Penn State football. But I was very surprised when Paul Jones didn't beat out McGloin for the starting qb job.

From my understanding, it was two things.

With everything that happened, O'Brien wanted the quarterback with the most experience. That obviously being McGloin.

The second was apparently consistency.

I think I would change Hakeem Smith to either DeVante Parker or Calvin Pryor.

I think so too. The guy is a touchdown machine. A true red zone threat but with all the talent at WR for Louisville it might be tough to get 1,000.
