Just had an impact D-Tackle push his way into the backfield. The QB tries to run, but his O-Lineman gets pushed right into his path, and he gets tripped up.

How freaking sweet is that?

Love the infinity engine. So much better than all the flopping in madden last year.

I had a 64 yard punt return by DeAnthony Thomas. I was caught on the 1 yard line but as the defender dragged me down, he twisted around so that I fell on top of him and was able to roll into the endzone without ever touching the ground.

Is it just me or does the game need more sack animations? I feel like every time I can get to the qb I see the same 3 or 4 sack animations. There are really no kill shots on the qb either.

Played the 360 version (PS3 copy still in shrink wrap) for a while tonight and there is nothing I can say at this point that hasn't already been said.

If you liked NCAA 11, 12 or 13, you will enjoy 14. A lot. If you don't care for EA's brand of football, 14 won't change your mind.

I fall into the first camp and so far, am really enjoying NCAA 14.

Played one game using AA across the board and defeated Miami (Fla.) with my Seminoles of Florida State 23-3. I'm using the Zoom Camera which adds some difficulty to the passing game. It was too easy to play defense, though, as Miami had negative yards for the contest.

Next up was Nevada (me) at Fesno State, this time with CPU offense set to Heisman. I think that is where I'll end up staying. Game was 3-0 in the 2nd quarter (Fresno ahead) when I had to turn it off.

I haven't touched sliders and don't plan to. In my first game, Miami completed less than 60% of its pass attempts, and in both games, I saw several overthrown or missed throws by the CPU.

Some random notes:
-Players have more weight to them and it feels good.
-The run blocking is a nice improvement.
-The post-play animations are a mix of new (tossing ball to the ref) and old but overall, very good.
-Visually the colors pop and fields/stadiums look great.

I don't see how this game won't go down as the best of this console generation. I'm looking forward to playing more games, checking out Dynasty and just having fun, because in the end, that's what this hobby is all about.

I can honestly say this is the one NCAA game I've ever played that's gotten better as I've played it. I'm having a blast.

DJ leave the PS3 in the wrap and returrn it. Yes it plays fine but pales in comparison to the 360 version performance wise. This is just my opinion

Re: NCAA Football 14 Available For Season Ticket Subscribers, Post Your Impressions H

Finally picked up the game last night! Only got one game in, but I plugged in Pasta's rosters and Charter's Heisman sliders (TOUGH, as you'll see)

Having been educated on ease of shotgun running, I decided to do only "ask coach" play-calling. I'm sure it will get patched, but I've made the conscious decision to enjoy the game and ignore exploits. Boy, do I wish I had exploited the CPU, haha.

I also have a lot to learn. Ohio St (me) @ LSU; 8pm kick-off in death valley. CPU ran the ball at will on me, Jeremy Hill gashed me for 200+ yards and 3 TDs. LSU had 300+ yards on the ground and won 48-10. My offense had 174 yards.

I would chalk this up to a steep learning curve for this years game. I plan on doing the exact same match up after work tonight and will see how it goes. Overall, I like these sliders! I might need to nerf them to stay a little more competitive.

Now about the shotgun running:

The O-line is getting a MAJOR push on the D-line for these runs. I suspect it has something to do with the way the option attack was programmed this year (because, I know how hard it was to run any sort of option or shotgun run the past few years). I suspect a simple tweak by EA will get it back to even, but we'll see.

Still not fully in football mode, myself, but I think this will turn out to be a good purchase and the game will get well-refined with a tuner and patch. Love the new stat overlays!
