Re: Pass Lead and Celebrations

Yup the year the NCAA decided to crackdown on harmless fun EA took out anything remotely resembling a celebration. You can still celebrate on the way to the end zone and dive in Madden but not NCAA. *goes back to wondering why the game feels like it lacks emotion at times*

It's definitely still in. I've done them multiple times.

No you can't. The player will always dive like he's trying to get there before being stopped. Even if there's no one around him. You also could press triangle in the pass and do a signature gesture. Like the "U" for Miami or the horns for Texas. That harmless bit of fun was also taken out.

Not to be a synic but does anyone else find it odd that you can't hold up a U with your hands but you can show off those new Nike gloves with the logos on em? Either way can't blame EA for this one it was the NCAAs doing.

Thats because Pass Lead breaks the game... being able to turn a streak at the numbers, into a post inside the hashes shouldn't be possible, and now its not...
Also, the dreaded TE Seem, or Slot Seem where your defensive player would never get inside position seems to have been fixed, along with the Safeties playing much better all around...

I applaud EA for toning down the pass lead this year... Hopefully the madden team will follow suit...

I still remember a particular PS2 NCAA title (can't remember which year, somewhere around 03-04) where EA was going to include goal posts coming down by the fans. Even showed a video of it prior to release only for the NCAA to step in and say, "Uh...I don't think so fellas!"

While I see the NCAA's point in protecting their professional image, I think that there is some room to have a little bit of fun in the video games. Nothing over to top, but things like celebrations and fans rushing the field after an upset are things that would make the game a little more fun!
