2K started doing this year's ago and made some of the best Basketball game ever.

They should do it with this game. Let the consumer give tips and advice on what should be in the game.

That would mean they were accountable.

This is unfair.

Are either of you aware that people have made death threats against Madden devs?

The devs are actually discouraged from communicating directly with fans via social media. I don't blame them.

Re: Why doesn't EA Sports communicate directly with the consumers

EA's approach is to have their own vision and then tweak that based on community feedback after release. Whether that is the method we all want or not does not matter as we've seen with Madden no matter how good or polished the game is, it's going to print money because of that NFL shield it has. The college game is also going to sell well relative to it's spot in the market simply due to being the only licensed game in town. EA likely knows this and has no reason to change their model.

Re: Why doesn't EA Sports communicate directly with the consumers

This is a slippery slope because there are so many consumers, and if we're being honest, humans are just terrible in general, in how they approach each other. Opening the faucet to consumer input on a broad scale would or could become an unorganized mess of insults and nonsense. However, I feel that EA, like most developers, likely has a process in place for beta testing where consumers are involved on a smaller scale, therefore staying out of the public eye for the most part, which is better for everyone involved in the process of the development of the game.

But as a TLDR answer, the reason EA doesn't communicate directly with consumers is because consumers, as a stereotyped group, are awful to interact with.

I don't need EA to directly communicate with me but I still wish they would put out a statement every couple months on the progress they are making with the players representives. As far as we know, EA isnt any closer right now in reaching an NIL deal than they were 2 years ago. It isn,t a big leap to think the game will be completly finished before a deal is struck.

Wait, so One Partner Team is the players official rep for players? I hadn,t heard that before today.

Re: Why doesn't EA Sports communicate directly with the consumers

They tried. They tried very hard. I know. I was there after years of being a part of the Madden community. I got some slack because people knew I'd come from the community, MaddenMania and Operation Sports, long before I went to work for them... but even still, I was treated like crap by a majority of the Madden community.

Unfortunately, the community only takes it as an opportunity to attack, lampoon, insult, and threaten. It's not worth it.

For the record, it's precisely the people who complain about lack of communication who come back with, "FIX YOUR F**KING GAME. YOUR LAZY POS'S, F**CK YOU!" every time they try.
