A lot of these "rules" are just stupid. You may never score over 50 pts? Can never score 14+ than your opponent? What if they are terrible? Just kneel when you are about to score?

Sim style means, don't throw hail marys non stop, don't use glitch plays and don't scramble 15 yards behind the line just to throw a bomb with your QB on every play. People pick fast QB's and do hail marys so the defense is 20 yards down field, then scramble all game and it is boring.

But using PA every time = not cheese, Oregon does it almost every pass
Going for it on 4th down around midfield = not cheese, again Oregon does it often.
Fake FG's - not cheese, defense should be ready and it's an offensive risk.

Are fake punts and fake FG's consistently effective to warrant prohibition?

They are more effective than they should be because the defense doesn't match up on Fake FG passes and punts. Defense is hard enough in this game so our philosophy is to encourage more realistic game play. IRL you do not see a lot of fake FGs and punts.

The level in which people want to take their SIM approach is up to them. There are the fundamentals of SIM, but sometimes there are those who just want to take it to the utmost realism. Some use house rules, some use sliders, or some use a combination of both. There is no harm in it at all.

Haha I like this. I am also a commissioner of an OD and I try not to make too many rules. I really don't think we have any besides not playing FCS teams. There is a kid who is a pretty big douche in our league. Runs the score up, pads his tight ends stats (2,300 receiving yards in 9 games), and "loses" connection when he is losing. I finally confronted him about the connection problem and he hasn't done it since. I want to move to heisman difficulty, but there is a kid in our dynasty who can't even consistently beat unranked teams so I have unfortunately become too dominant right now.

You should probably switch to Heisman if you don't want to see so many crazy stats. The guy who is losing to unranked teams will eventually get better throughout time if he sticks with it and doesn't quit. I know I used to suck on Heisman but just kept playing and got better eventually.

Re: What is the SIM style of football?

A lot of these don't seem fun, and I definitely wouldn't want to join those leagues. I run the option, you're telling me I'm limited to 300yds rushing? Granted, that's a good amount, but...

Anyone I've played in the leagues I'm in, all of which are hosted on here, would tell you I'm sim, but there's a line, I think sine of these cross it.
