Wow! Turning off HFA...

I think I'm gonna turn it off now. I started a temp dynasty with Arkansas to test some sliders I barely lost to Texas. I know it had to do with the fact that I was the home team. But, the thing that irked me more was how my guys just dropped in ratings so quickly because of a few incompletions.

I have been playing lately with shake off but HFA on. Varsity, heavily favored cpu sliders. V. Young from Texas went 10-40 @ Ohio State(me). The other 2 games I played both guys got around 30% completion rate. 1 guy was 7-28 but the WRs had 7 drops also!!! THIS IS WITH CATCH ASSIST ON. So I guess I will turn off HFA and see how it goes. I have tried turning HFA off and having every single CPU offensive category (except pass blocking) maxed out, and zero for defensive awareness, tips and INT's way down, etc. I STILL have QB's with 90+ accuracy ratings going 11 for 34 and worse. Once in a great while the CPU will complete over 40% of his passes, but this is very rare. Sorry, but it's my personal opinion that this is screwed up and can't be fixed. A lot of it has to do with EA's superhuman defensive backs. They cover receivers too closely and they can make up ground in a flash. EA needs to address this first thing for NCAA 2006.

I agree Quint. I have been able to make the games very competitive now, but both sides still have terrible passing attacks. The good thing is that at least both sides are terrible, so at the games are close. Some games seem to turn into who can drop the ball the least. Sure the DB's seem to be super human on some plays (playing Heisman level), but it's the number of drops that hurt the game. In most of my games, the number of drops comes close to the number of completions (for both sides). This is on the X-box as I have read that some people on the PS2 don't have as big a problem.

I hardly have any drops and neither does the computer. I play on the PS2 and completion %'s are 50 or higher. I just turn the camera shake off and since I've done this the AI has played a lot better. I max out most AI sliders on AA. I really like the DB AI in this game. I would like to see more YAC, but besides that, this game is playing extremely well for me.

I just read the Njkroc (who I based my sliders on) uses manual catch. That might be something to try. Don't think it's possible to improve the CPU. I'll try manual catch tonight and see how it goes.
