What is up with the pass blocking bug?

this happened when i was playing against a friend the other day. as soon as i snapped the ball, my right tackle politely stepped backwards, and then proceded to watch the d-lineman walk right past him and nail my qb. i then made the mistake of calling a hurry up, and the guy did the exact same thing again. made me want to eat my controller.
