Re: Special Players' Numbers

i make sure no player is assigned a number that is retired by SC (the heisman winners) and any hiesman i win, I retire that number too. i give #1 to a freak WR and 55 to a freak LB.

EXACTLY!!!
#3,5,11,12,20,32,and 33 or gone forever.

#1 goes to like Casino said a super stud WR who has proven he deserves it.

#55 goes to a LB how can dominate a game like Seau, and Claiborne did for USC

#71 Is for only the BEST OL. Must at least be a 95.

#43 is for only the best DB. Must show he is the man in the backfield.

and I usually try to get a starting DL in the 80's. can't be a chump but a true badass.

Re: Special Players' Numbers

Just saw this thread while I was paging through here and I have a few to.

As Illinois I will not give any players the #50 (Dick Butkus) or #77 (Red Grange) since these are Illinois retired numbers.

I assign my star players (especially if they're LBs) #56 or #48 for two of my best ever recruits in the NCAA series, #56 for Demetrius Hester former Illinois MLB in NCAA 06 and #48 for Harvey Walls former Oklahoma St. OLB in NCAA 04.

Re: Special Players' Numbers

I will not assign 34 (Bo Jackson), 7 (Pat Sullivan), or 88 (Terry Beasley). I always recruit the top rated RB's and assign them with 23 and 24 (Ronnie and Carnell). I think Auburn is going to make a tradition out of the number 23 starting this year (Ronnie really started it, but after Kenny Irons, I think Ben Tate will inherit it, and pass it on after that).

Re: Special Players' Numbers

#1 always goes to my deep threat reciever. recievers unless they suck, never get 80s numbers. safetys, backs(RB, CB, and safeties) all get single numbers. Linebackers get between 30-49. starting d-ends always get 80s numbers do to Jason Berryman. QBs get 7,15, 18, or then whatever numbers available.

Re: Special Players' Numbers

Some of my quirks in dynasty mode over the past.
  1. Best offensive player always wears #9
  2. Fastest player always wears #1
  3. Best defensive player wears #10
  4. Any player who started a game on defense would wear a black visor and black sleeves. My version of the blackshirts. This can also go to a player who sees substantial playing time, like a nickel back or backup SS in the 4-2-5 or 3-3-5.
  5. Special Linebackers who don't get #10 would get #55 or #44.

Re: Special Players' Numbers

I have numbers that I like to give to certain positions and players as well, but I hate when you give like #1 to a WR and he's awesome but looks stupid on the field because he has huge elbow pads and no recieving gloves.
