BOISE — Boise State quarterback Jared Zabransky said earlier this week on KTIK 1350 AM that he will be on the cover of the forthcoming EA Sports NCAA Football 2008 video game.

The game will be released later this summer and sells more than one million units each year.

On Wednesday, Boise State officials would not confirm whether or not Zabransky would grace the cover, but did say there would be an announcement today from EA Sports.

Last season, Southern California running back Reggie Bush was on the cover. Bush won the Heisman Trophy as a junior before turning pro.

Boise State senior associate athletic director for promotions and marketing Brad Larrondo said the Broncos received more than $75,000 in royalty money from the EA Sports last season for allowing the video game maker to use the team in the game.

The Idaho Press-Tribune will have more on Zabransky and the cover of the video game in Friday’s edition

I guess the fireworks of the finale gave "Z" the inside edge. Kind of stunning if you ask me, but hey, more press and respect for the non-traditional powers is good news.
