Skyboxer - If you haven't seen the missed tackles, then give it a few. I have had dude wrapped up in the backfield only to see them scamper off for 6.
I've been playing since Saturday and have not seen it. Hope I dont!

Pull up any video and you should see it. Though it does happen in real life, it looks like almost every play as it takes more than one to bring a player down. Some of those EA Sports World videos are ridiculous watching how bad the defense is. I don't know, I am just frustrated by the fact that another one of my favorite sports franchise is taking two steps back.

So you think the game is not as good as 08? I haven't played it yet.

Lots of missed tackles? Not seeing it.

Recruiting gets old? Not if you're into the recruiting aspect.

Campus Legend? Yeah except the improved some angles and it's still a blast to play. Since when to we give a negative to something that is already cool but don't add to it?

Icing the kicker works too well? Nope. Don't see that either.

They basically talked more good than bad, even saying the gameplay is better!, and yet give 08 an 8 score and 09 a 7.5

Yeah there's some issues with the game but it's certainly better than 08.

Just like NCAA's sliders..this makes no sense. IMO of course.
Being better the last year is a given. That doesn't mean the review scores should go up every year. These days, reviewers are scoring games high that push the genre forward, do something that hasn't been done before etc... EA managed to do it will NHL 07 and the skill stick and the reviews showed it.

Is there anything truly ground breaking in NCAA this year? That is the question I think next-gen game reviewers are asking themselves. Graphics are no longer enough to make something next-gen. I can't answer that question since I don't have the game but this particular reviewer didn't think so based on his review.

Re: Gamespot review up - gets a 7.5 rating

Agian,I have not had the "takes 2 to bring down" issues. What's funny is there are TONS of posts about the CPU not having a running game yet now, we have an issue with the CPU runners getting more yards than they should.

I really need to stop watching these boards once a game comes out.

NCAA 09 is better than 09, period. It just seems there are 3 types of people here.
1: Went into it knowing they wouldn't like it and Surprise! They don't
2: Can look past every issue and say the game is a 10
3: Those that take it for what it is, a game and play it to have fun.

I could care less what "others' have seen or "Created", I could care less if after SIMMING for 1,234,667 seasons Joe Schmoes ratings are dumb etc..
As long as I'm having fun is all that matters.

I believe I'm done with the "Impressions" thread.....

IGN gave it an 8.4 for the XBOX 360, 6.5 for PSP.

Anyway, that is off-topic from the original post. The Gamespot reviewer seems a little off-base on some of the stuff he is complaining about in the game. I agree more along the lines of ign or the OS review. Great game overall, but with a few gameplay balancing issues and some room for improvement.

Definitely don't take my words to mean anything as I have only played the demo. Just from what I have been seeing (Videos) and reading of impressions and reviews. The game looks better visually and a few more animations have been added but I think the consensus is that the NCAA developers dumbed down the AI so that it would appeal to the casual gamer who just wants to win without knowing a thing about college football. I am willing to bet they didn't really work on NCAA 09 that much this year as their time was probably spent on overhauling Madden this year.
