Re: Best NCAA to date?

NCAA 06 was my first NCAA game and I had bought every game since then. I loved '06 the most at the time I had it. NCAA 07 on the PS2 was fun and was better in many ways but the momentum and jump the snap really sapped the fun out of the game (along with the removal of r-stick DL moves).

I had a lot of fun with '09 with my two biggest beefs being the weak cpu running game (partially because of the ineffective sliders) and the cpu not throwing deep. Pursuit angles were also an issue but I do think it was overblown by some. It's not something I saw that often nor did I exploit it either. I am getting the itch to start another dynasty with '09.

I'm on next gen now and not going back so it's pointless to even bring up the old stuff.
actually, it is very important to being up the "old stuff" The lack of "old stuff" is the reason why this series is on life support. 99% of the complaining is about the "old stuff" that was done properly and added realism to the game.

I'll say it til I'm blue in the face, there is no excuse for us to have more powerful systems, bigger discs, and the result ends up being a lesser game.

Would you buy a a computer that looked cool but performed worse than you're computer you bought nearly 10 years ago?

Re: Best NCAA to date?

you misunderstand me. bring up that stuff all you want, and i'm like most people I'd like to see certain things from those games make it into this gen. but for me it's a waste of time because i'm not going back to buying any of those games so there's not point in making another comparison between this and NFL2k5 for instance. that's all i was trying to say.

Re: Best NCAA to date?

At the risk of being stoned to death by the community, I have to say that I loved 09, warts and all.

Some areas of the game were an absolute disaster: passing game, pass rush, pursuit angles ...

But the explosiveness and excitement were the best I've ever seen in a football game. I had hundreds of jaw-dropping highlight-reel plays where I broke four or five tackles -- even Tommie Frazier would have shed a tear. (I loved the speed curve, too, which I think seemed overpowered because of the awful pursuit angles.)

I have no doubt NCAA 10 will be better than 09 -- but I have a sneaking suspicion it won't be as flat-out fun.
