In injury news:

Adewale Ojomo, Ryan Hill, Richard Gordon are out for the year due to injury and will receive medical redshirts.

Redshirts:

Freshman Lamar Miller, Sophomore Davon Johnson, Freshman Billy Sanders, Freshman Jermaine Johnson, Freshman Jared Wheeler, Freshman Dyron Dye, Freshman Curtis Porter, Freshman Luther Robinson, and Freshman Jamal Reid will all redshirt this season.

Randy Shannon said "Davon Johnson will be redshirting so we can save him an extra year of eligibility. We wished we could have redshirted him last year but he was needed. He was the 6th man in the 5 man rotation battle we had at Wide Receiver this off-season and since he is a sophomore we have decided to redshirt him." He also had to say for the freshman "We have been creating depth the last few recruiting classes, these kids will get their turn. We just need them to get adjusted and learn the system. Their is a possibility that a few could maybe find their way into playing this year if injuries occur."

The Miami Herald Reports:

Quarterbacks Taylor Cook and Cannon Smith have decided to leave the program in the fall a week before the showdown at Doak. Leaving Freshman QB A.J. Highsmith being the only other Quarterback on the roster as Jacory Harris only backup.

Jacory: "Well, I don't know what to say. It was quite a shock. Taylor and Cannon are both good friends of mine and I will surely miss the good times we had here."

A.J. Highsmith: "I feel like a new weight was put on my shoulders. I just have to prep myself just in case if their will be a time when I am needed. I will take this oppurtunity to the fullest."

Randy Shannon: "I wish the best for Taylor and Cannon, but we must move on as a program. We have a very important game within only a few days."

-----------------------------------------
Let's Jump to the pre-game in the locker room at Doak Campbell Stadium Monday Night on Labor Day.

Erin Andrews: Let's send you to the Miami Locker Room.

Randy Shannon: "Alright folks. We are here now. The Big Game. I had many of these in my time as a LB here in the 80's. This is your time now. You leave everything on the field. You gotta make it right. You work hard every play. The blood, the sweat, the pain. You play hard for 60 minutes and I will tell you, we will win"

- Michael Irvin walks in the locker room and receives an applause-

Michael Irvin: "You ready! You Ready to kick some Seminole ***!"

The Team: "We Ready! We Ready! We Ready!

Erin Andrews: Let's send it back to you Kirk, Brad, and Corso.

Kirk Herbstreit: The Hurricanes look ready Brad.

Brad: Yes they do. Jacory Harris and offensive coordinator Mark Whipple will be the X-factor in this game.

Kirk: Watch out for sophomore Travis Benjamin in this game. Last year he put up almost 300 all-purpose yards on FSU and had a pair of TD's.

Brad: FSU will have a weapon in their RB Jermaine Thomas for this game. Miami's defense must contain him to win.

Kirk: Brad, don't make me get started on the RB Duo from Miami in Javarris James and Graig Cooper. Thunder & Lightning. Cooper will make an impact as a return man this year as well since James is healthy again.

Brad: Well folks, looks like the game is about to start.

Kirk: Before we send you to the game folks. I have one thing to say. Randy, Jacory, Whipple, and that Canes team will put the Canes back on the map this year. Quote me if you want. They will be B-A-C-K to the Canes of old! It's all about the U. - Kirk throws up the U -

Kirk: Lee wake up!

Lee: What!? Im sorry.

Game update and pictures and major highlights will be up later today. Please follow this. Working on the game right now as we speak.
