They really need to get rid of the R1 button. Not realistic at all (and this is coming from a D1-A Running Back). Fumbles need to be a mix of poor rating, well timed hits and strips.

Re: I'm starting to believe the Fumble stories

I average a little less than 1 fumble per game and the cpu averages about 1 per game. I don't have a running QB, so my carries are almost all RB's (with a few WR end arounds). Although the fumbles seem to me to be about the best it's ever been in this series, I could see where certain QBs' low CAR ratings could definitely be causing problems. IMO, good option QBs should have a CAR rating similar to that of RBs.

I think Rush Defense might have a bigger effect on fumbles than RBA or CPU Tackling.

I've been trying a new set of sliders with the CPU's rush defense up at 80 and I started fumbling all the time. I played about two dozen games with it at 65 and I rarely fumbled (I always press R1 and never juke in traffic).

When I changed RBA or tackling I didn't notice any difference in the amount I fumbled.

i have to agree with Rocky there really no point in having the R1 button now that you can cover up and shoulder tackles . that's how running back take tackles anyway.

I had a game with 8 fumbles once. Three of them happened back to back and all were by RBs. I have yet to see the CPU QB fumble while being sacked...they will fumble once in a while if they scramble

If you press up on the right stick whilst being tackled, you'll fumble the ball.

Re: I'm starting to believe the Fumble stories

I play as Notre Dame and Andrew Hendrix (Freshman backup) has 40 carrying.

He has almost 90 speed but he's completely useless to run with because of his CAR rating.

I have 20 fumbles in 11 games with him. You can get tapped by a defender and he'll fumble. I try to run OoB and he fumbles and the fumble miraculously falls straight down and lies just in bounds on the sideline and the CPU gets it.

And for some reason he doesn't know how to slide very well either. Maybe it's not just him, but I've noticed that sometimes if you press square to slide they'll dive instead and since they're diving into a defender it's an auto-fumble.
