Really nothing. I just like to keep games realistic and hate to see scores of 60+ points in a game. It is your game though, play it how you want.

That sportsmanship thing is so dumb. I've been warned about running it up when I was up 20-0 in the fourth quarter. Is that really running it up? Am I supposed to send my HB into a 9 man front for the sake of the other team's feelings? If you want to save yourself the embarrassment of getting blown out, then stop my offense. Especially when it's my second team in the game. Especially when my offense is the Air Raid. 35-10 and passing isn't running up the score and definitely isn't unrealistic.

Nothing. I think the sportsmanship thing is stupid. 3 minutes left in the 4th and I'm up by 20. It's 3rd and 9 on my own 30 yard line(i ran the 1st two downs). I call quick slants just to get the 1st down and try to run the clock out. I get -50 for "running it up". All I'm trying to do is run the clock out...

You don't see 60+ points in a game in real life? Didn't Ohio St. score 73 on Saturday?

The same thing that's bad about it in real life?

Personally I avoid running up the score because it makes the game longer. If I'm up big, I'll try to kill the entire second half with two or three drives if I can. Why score 35 more points when it's just going to give the opposition that many more possessions, and involve that many more XPs and kickoffs and whatnot? I'd rather win a game 35-3 than 66-28 any day.

Sure it's a bit boring just basically killing clock the entire second half (or fourth quarter, at least), but so are real-life blowouts.

Well Ohio State just rolled over Eastern Michigan last weekend 73-20 so scores of 60+ are not that rare at all. Or Michigans win against Bowling Green with 65-21. And Hawaii has won with 60+ too if I remember correctly. And that's just one weekend.

if i'm up big, i'll set game plan to conservative to run the clock, but my play calling doesn't change.

if you've got the difficulty high enough, the AI will try to punk you with its psychic play calling if you just keep running the ball up the middle. The take big hits on your RB and there's a chance for injury. So i just keep running my best plays.
