Conference Realignment Draft

A friend of mine and I were messing around with NCAA Football Online Dynasty stuff and wanted to create custom conferences. The best solution we came up with was to have a draft of sorts. We ranked each conference 1-11 and did the draft fantasy-style. The #11 conference (Sun Belt) got first pick and then the next round got the 11th and so on. The three teams not picked for conferences by the time they were filled up were made independent. Here's how things shook out during our mini dorkapalooza.

Re: Conference Realignment Draft

I thought of doing a random draw like this, but never did it...it's interesting to see what teams end up where. I'd like to see how this plays out!

Looks like Ohio State got a free pass to go 12-0 every year.

Could be. We just started playing today and I'm really interested in seeing how things work out. I'm even thinking of starting an offline dynasty with this alignment and simming just to see what happens.

I did another big conference realignment for one of my dynasties that ended up with Boise State beating Virginia Tech for the national championship. I see plenty of people complaining about dynasty results not being realistic enough, but I love the wackiness.

Found it interesting that only one team made the Top 25 without double-digit wins. Probably due to everybody getting spread out so that teams like Missouri aren't having to deal with quite as many great teams (Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma) though they did manage a win against Alabama.

I also just simmed through year 2, but it takes a long time to write this crap down. So if I post the next season it'll be a much more condensed version.
