This is pretty damn close to what I'm going with as well. Probably use the Miss State playbook as a base. No Pistol for me. I'll probably replace that with one 5 WR set.

Mine will be mostly Mississippi State's pb with every SG wing formation in it (the Auburn/Bama vid showed a new wing formation in AU's pb with the hb on the other side of the QB than the wing guy). It'll have a couple wildcats as well as an empty quads formation. For under center I'll have 2 or 3 Is and 2 or 3 aces.

Re: Custom Playbooks, What's your going to look like?

Offense: Although I'm a through and through Texas Tech Fan I'm going away from the Air Raid (or the Nascar as Neal Brown calls it). I will run most of my offense out of a oneback setup. I like the oneback plays from 11 that had motion included. Oregon State's playbook was great for this. I'll mix in a little pistol (if it works this year).

Defense: I run almost exclusively the 4-2-5. I've always loved the SS position and here I get 2! lol I've always been a fan of the 4-2-5 and now that Tech runs it, I love it even more.

Question: Do you think since they made so many 4-2-5 improvements, the days of a DB in man coverage lining up of the center (instead of manning up on the other side of the field) are over?

I too love the 4-2-5 but the man alignment issues were enough for me to abandon it. I'm very hopeful that with their focus on the 4-2-5 this year the alignment bugs will be fixed.

Re: Custom Playbooks, What's your going to look like?

On offense I am a run first guy. I love establishing the running game and passing to keep the defense off balanced.
I will run a majority out of the Ace Formation. I want shotgun in there but i have to see how well i can run out of it first. I will also throw in some I- Formation and Wildcat

On Defense My base will be a 4-3, but i will have some of most everything. I love the running out of the Nickel too, but with the improvements to the 4-2-5 that will be my switch up and then some 3-4 and Dime packages to throw different looks at the offense. i will also incorporate the 5-2 for run help.
