Re: Statistical Look at Progression (Ongoing)

Evan you are a good man! A man of science.

Anyone else willing to run these same tests? I got too much going on this afternoon.

Keeping in context there's 8000 players in the game these numbers aren't bad as long as they are spread evenly across positions/teams.

I do think there needs to be a small tweak however. Maybe a slight reduction in player/coach progression to get the numbers more in keeping with the default rosters.

It's unfortunate this happens but it's nowhere near as bad as last years mess with horrible ratings and bad progression ending up with bad gameplay, bad players and a couple A rated teams by year five. This is a small problem that I'm sure will be fixed (hopefully with a patch/tuner that allows us to keep our Dynasty and not restart!).

I agree its to much, but I think people are jumping high bc returning starters get a boost in AWR. I just look at it like more.

I dont want to go back to the days where every top 20 teams or so have starters AND backups with ratings in the 90's. It doesn't even matter who the cpu starts with that many good players. And when I get a great player I want it to feel like its rare..makes them more special that way. Now every 4 star player you recruit you will already know he will have ratings in the 90's by his junior and senior years.

Re: Statistical Look at Progression (Ongoing)

Thanks for doing this Evan!

I'm interested to see how this turns out a couple more years down the road. Just because there was a jump in 90+ players in season 5 doesn't mean that it'll be like that the rest of the dynasty.

Ummmm 2011 progression was just as screwy. 3* would start as a 73 and end as a 78. You have look at the whole picture.

I didn't agree with ur 2011 progression being correct but I absolutely agree with fixing the coach prestige may fix progression.

Re: Statistical Look at Progression (Ongoing)

For whatever reason they can't seem to program progression to stay consistent with the first year rosters. It bothers me, and hopefully by the time they release patch two they will have figured out how to reign in progression for players and coaches, but I'm just going to deal with it.

At the beginning of every new season I'm going to edit players down to where there are approximately two hundred 90+ OVR players in the league. Its a pain in the ***, but thankfully they relented and allowed in-Dynasty editing so that we could partially ameliorate this years' progression misstep.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Statistical Look at Progression (Ongoing)

Season 6 is updated. Although we saw 6 more 99's added, the number of 99 QB's dropped and the overall amount of 90+ players increased by just 1. The number of 90+ K/P dropped to 36 from 48.

I'm going to start simming season 7, but I may need a break here since it's annoying having to check the game every 20 minutes or so, heh.

Season 7 should be interesting. The numbers seem to be evening out a bit, but I can't get ahead of myself until around season 10 (as always).
