I'd like to take my game to the developers, have them sit right next to me, and listen to them try to explain why with 2 lead blockers, no one gets blocked at the point of attack EVER. Not even occasionally.

The FB will have an ISO play, hole in the line, just him vs. the LB and he'll completely not even whiff, not make contact, but immediately turn around like "oops!". Pulling linemen never block defenders coming across their face (football 101). It's a total waste, and the developer would have NOTHING to say. There's no explaining it, there's no excuse, it's just plain garbage.
Yeah it really ruins the running game. Big plays are almost nonexistent because you never have the blocking. Even if you have the play setup perfectly it's almost inevitable that your blockers are going to ignore the defenders right in front of them and continue on their merry way downfield. Combine that with the sprint button turning defenders into gods when it comes to shedding blocks and the outside running game because almost pointless.

I just took all the toss plays out of my playbook and use counters as my 'outside' running plays. Stupid, but it works

I did that too but there is one counter play that every time gets blown dead for a loss of 4 yards. I cant remember what formation its out of I know its in Oregons playbook, its out of the spread formation RB is on the strong side and as soon as the qb hands it off the plays is over loss of 4 yards.

Same. The only toss in the game I've ever gotten to work is Weak Toss out of I Tight or I Y Trips. That is an effective play. The toss in Slot F Wing works occasionally but I prefer running QB Power as my outside play.

I've pretty much given up on attempting perimeter runs from undercenter. Occasionally you can bounce a counter or stretch and if you have a quick QB you can try speed/load option but that's about it.

My perimeter run game in the spread is basically Jet, Load Option, Speed Option, QB Power, Power O/Base and even then, I'm looking to cut up ASAP.

I think that has something to do w/ rb height. I never run counters out of the shotgun with a short rb because of that, problem is my speed guy right now is pretty short...

That isn't a specific SG counter play, but every SG counter with a HB that's shorter than 5'9. Make your HB 5'9 and he can run all SG counters without hitting that bug.

Thanks! Thats good to know it was starting to get frustrating, makes sense since my RB is 5'7"
