I hope you are being sarcastic. They have used the same lines for 3 years now which would explain why myself and others turn the commentary off after a couple of games.

You're using that quote out of context.

Used with the rest of what I said; that they should add another crew, in addition to nessler and herbstreit, it makes sense.

He still has a full games worth of commentary, whether you like it or not. Why not just add more lines for him, and add another crew? He's not bad, just repetitive, but that's not really his fault.

I also said they did this with NCAA Basketball 10. Dick Vitale is one of the most repetitive announcers alive, but they added a second crew and people still reference that game, praising the presentation.

Why couldn't they do that with Nessler?

But Thorne rarely, if ever does NHL games anymore, much like Nessler.

That was my point.

I know it's CBS but Verne and Danielson would be great

Re: Why Brad Nessler?

I doubt EA will be shelling out more licensing fees for their junior football title. EA is not quite the invincible empire of yesteryear. They have fallen, with the industry itself, in recent years.

I'm okay with Kirk and Nessler but they need to refresh their lines and add some more. Mostly I think it falls on EA however to make sure the commentary flows better.

Nessler calls the ESPN Saturday prime time broadcast nearly every single week. Plus he called the freaking Fiesta Bowl this year, so I don't see how he in any way, shape, or form compares to Thorne not doing hockey.

Outside of Musburger, Nessler is easily the top college football announcer in the sport. Yes, his lines are getting stale, but that's the fault of EA. But what are they going to do? They're not going to bring Musburger in to do a thousand lines because he's 137 years old, so that leaves us with what? Joe Tessitore or Mike Patrick?

No, thanks. I'll take the stale lines of Nessler over new lines from those guys any day of the week.
