Re: Freak Recruits?

I seem to be seeing more 6'7 guys than normal. A lot of my best players (heisman winning QB graduated last year) These are currently the most "freakish" kids on my team:

P 97 OVR 99 KPW 96 KAC (RS SR)

DT 95 OVR 83 SPD 87 STR 98 ACC 90 TAK 99 POW 89 BSH 87 PUR 91 PRC (SR)

WR 94 OVR 89 SPD 98 ACC 81 AGI 97 CTH 99 SPC 88 CIT 98 RTE (RS JR)

QB 90 OVR 88 SPD 88 AGI 81 BTK 89 JKM 84 THP 99 THA (RS SO)

HB 90 OVR 98 SPD 87 AGI 98 ACC 87 BTK 97 ELU88 BXC 87 SFA 91 SPM 89 JKM 91 SPC (RS JR)

TE 89 OVR 81 SPD 98 AWR 81 BTK 80 CTH 82 SPC 81 79 PBK 82 RBK 88 IBL (RS SR)

MLB 89 OVR 97 SPD 89 AGI 85 SPC 89 TAK 89 POW 82 BSH 91 PUR 80 PRC 80 ZCV (JR)

CB 90 OVR 89 PSD 82 AGI 89 AWR 94 PUR 92 PRC 99 MCV 98 ZCV 97 PRS (RS JR)

FS 91 OVR 87 SPD 86 AGI 88 ELU 81 SFA 85 SPM 81 JKM 81 CTH 85 THP 94 PUR 99 PRC 91 MCV 95 ZCV 94 PRS

Those are my best guys currently. Like I said, I just lost a lot of good ones to graduation. But it's too easy to pull the #1 class every year. And I wish they would have fixed the bug where guys 82 OVR go unrecruited out of HS this past recruiting season for instance I picked up this guy

True FR HB 82 OVR 90 SPD 80 STR 85 AGI 80 BTK 87 TRK 81 SFA 89 SPM 87 JKM 85 SPC

and these QB's (which 1 would u start poll?)

True FR ATH (QB) 78 OVR 93 SPD 82 AGI 80 THP 84 THA
True FR QB 79 OVR 75 SPD 80 AGI 95 THP 72 THA

On the second TR FR QB I meant 82 THA not 72

Is anybody still doing online leagues? I'm looking for one.

Re: Freak Recruits?

On 06 I was in my third season of my Kansas State dynasty when I recruited a kid by the name of Ed Davis. He was a 4-star JUCO Athlete (which made complete sense because half of Snyder's players are JUCO kids).

At 6'1 200lb, Davis was the only player I've ever had that could literally play over 5 positions equally. He was an 80-84 OVR (in 06, 84 was the max for any recruit) at HB, WR, OLB, CB, SS, and FS. He had 99 Speed. I sadly don't remember the rest of his ratings but he was simply the best player I have ever seen or played with on any video game.

He came in as a Sophomore and I had no choice but to start him at SS since I was weak there. He was also my kick and punt returner, he basically done it all for me.

In his first year he broke the national single-season interception record (and I never control the SS) and had several returns for touchdowns. He ended up being a finalist for the Heisman in his first year though he didn't win. He is the only defensive player I have seen on 06 that was a finalist for that award, amazing really! Since he had an A+ Potential rating, he finished the season as an 88 OVR, incredible!

Sadly I stopped playing that dynasty after that season which I regret to this day. I can't imagine what other feats he would have done for me. If I had some depth at SS I would have moved him over to offense just to see what he could do. Such a shame that I quit that dynasty.

Ed Davis is the reason I still play 06 today. You just never know what players will come your way and give you memories that you will never forget.

Long live #5!

Re: Freak Recruits?

NCAA 09 for the PS2. I recruited a 6'7, 215 lb 2-star WR from the state of Florida for my Tulane dynasty. His initial 40 time was 4.19 but I ended up giving scouting points and his 40 time went to a 4.12! This guy was burning corners left and right but his hands were rated and "F" so he'd average about 11 drops per game.

Re: Freak Recruits?

Here is my soon to be newest recruit.

Ratings of note:
  • 94 SPD
  • 93 AGI
  • 96 ACC
  • 90 THP
  • 75 BTK
  • 92 ELU
  • 89 SPM
  • 88 JKM

As a spread option guy, this dude is obviously a wet dream or me. His only downsides are 77 THA (which will only be a problem as a FR and maybe SO) and 63 CAR.

But, his rocket arm and game breaking speed/acceleration MORE than make up for that.

What's more, the dude is only 6'0, 208 so he can't be drafted which means that he'll be around for all 4 years!

If I have a guy like that I usually just edit their height before the end of the season. That way they actually get drafted.

Re: Freak Recruits?

NCAA 09, I was playing with San Jose State. I recruited a 6'7 Wr, Logan Mansfield. He came in as a 75 ovr, but was really fast for his size. 96 spd, if I remember correctly. So he was a great deep threat. At the end of his Fr season, he was a 81 ovr. He won the Heisman and broke NCAA records in his So, Jr and Sr years. Best Wr I ever had.

Also in NCAA 09, I was playing as Army. I was trying to recruit a Hb from Pennsylvania, named Cam Luke. He signed with Notre Dame. They redshirted him. He ended up transferring to my team because of that. He was a 83 ovr with high 90's in spd and acc. A threat to take it all the way on every play. He also returned kicks. He ended up breaking all NCAA records for running backs and won the Heisman twice. Could have been 3, but he got robbed in his So season. A Qb from Penn State won it.
Quite possibly the most luck I ever had with a transfer player.
