If you are throwing the ball when you see a reciever open, then you are throwing too late. You have to be able to know that right before a reciever breaks you throw the ball and it will hit him in open space. It's all about practice. You have to know how every play works out and at what points recievers make their breaks. If you don't know this then you will have these problems you are talking about.

The best remedy for the passing game that I've read on this site is the person who said don't lead your WR's. Don't press the analog stick in any direction when pressing your WR's icon. Just press A or whatever w/o even touching the stick. Since I've been doing that I"ve been raping the other team's secondary and seeing practically no unrealistic dropped passes. It's perfect.

Ill try it.

But if leading a receiver is part of the game why shouldn't I be able to do it w/o it being overided by cheesy DB's.Like they say if it's in the game it's in the game.EA is really screwin' people over IMHO.

Have you ever played organized football b/c I do and when you see an open receiver you will throw it to him or your gonna hear it from the coach. Not saying that you don't throw it to a receiver on the break but come on don't take up for EA's bug just b/c others know it's very cheesy.

Re: I found out what the passing game problem is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do I know that the sliders HAVE to be adjusted for NCAA? Because the computer is just as bad as I am. I have played six games with 8 min quarters at AA, and the computer has never gotten more than 200 yards passing and better than 40% passes completed. This was even with awareness and knockdowns slided way down.

I am the Washington Huskies, and while they are good, they are not that good. The computer cannot even throw a pass to save his life. That means that the defense is way to good on default sliders. I had teams come in averaging 400 yards passing get 150 yards for the whole game.

Now this is not a bad thing necessarily since you have sliders. It is easier to adjust when the defenses are good by adjusting the offense sliders then the other way around. When the computer plays bad defense, the only way to fix this with sliders in the past, the computer would usually just cheat a little more (more dropped passes, etc.).

I am liking the game, but you have to adjust the QB accuracy and WR Catch sliders to have this game realistic at the higher levels. When both myself and the computer can't complete a pass, it is kind of off.

At this point I'm not overly concerned with something "being in the game". If it fixes the drop issues for me then I'm satisfied. I played football videogames for a decade before leading receivers was implemented into a game, so I have no problem going back to basically playing without it. It seems as if when just pressing the receiver button and not manually leading the WR that the AI does an extremely good job of leading him for you. Just my guess...

Attention football virgins:

Defensive backs DO break on the ball before its release. Do you think Deion waited until a ball was in the air to read a play? Why do you think quarterbacks pump fake?

Duh.

I think you guys are truly missing his point, he's not stating that the DB who's covering his WR can't break on the ball. He is stating clearly and succintly, THAT DB'S WHO ARE COVERING RECEIVERS ON ROUTES THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN THE VICINITY, BREAK ON THE BALL EVEN WHEN ITS NOT IN THEIR LINE OF SIGHT. The DB's are breaking on the ball when the qb is in motion to throw to his receiver.

Have you played college or pro football? If you haven't, then you don't have a clue either. If you want to be the best at the game you have to know when recievers break. If you want to wait until they get open, then throw the ball while they run into and get ganged up by DB's then do that and every now and then you will catch a ball.

Watch some game film of pro of college games, the quarterback throws the ball in anticipation. Not when the reciever has already hit the opening in the defense. Thats why you always hear about the word 'Timing' with quarterbacks and recievers.
