How do I edit a player’s face after creating him and saving?

I created another player for the Red Bulls and want to change his nose etc. I cannot access him to make any edits. This was not done in be a pro mode or career mode. I see there is a coin amount needed for editing a player in career and I need 1,500 coins. (I am from the mlb the show crowd and creating players and importing them was not restricted). Am I missing something? BTW, never played soccer and find this came very enjoyable. Thanks for the help.
