Re: FIFA 17 Impressions From The Community

Haven't seen a tips/help/tactics thread so I'll ask my question here.

I've been playing the game for the past couple of days, and so far I like it. I'm playing with all manual controls and the camera from the sideline. When it comes to shooting, I still haven't quite figured out how much you move the stick for aiming.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Man I'm dying on that one. That was great. I got kids so I need 2 controllers if I want to play.

Re: FIFA 17 Impressions From The Community

My gameplay impressions (major issues):

Plus:

- tactics and team ID are working better. Teams play differently. Can be improved, but it's a step in the right way. Don't play Legendary (teams will play more alike);
- more long balls (still not enough);
- CPU players using more dribbling moves;
- set pieces more diverse;
- better overall positioning and less ADD;
- handball calls were reduced;
- better graphics.

Minus:

- "bursting" issue;
- lack of fouls. This is really amazing how EA introduces a new free kick system without having fouls te be called;
- Goal kicks need diversity (gk kicking to different locations and field players positioning diversity too);
- CPU first-time shooting needs to be reduced and long-shots raised;
- crowd behavior and sounds needs to be more in-sync with game events.

Cheers!

- If you are talking about FIFA 16, yes all AI teams play the same. Not the case in FIFA 17 (unless you play Legendary). Team tactics do work this year.

- I play with handballs on. Can't compare it to FIFA 16. Way less fouls called that way.

- BPL total fouls between 20-30 per game. If you are having those numbers you are fine. If not... your "ton" needs some calibration...

Cheers!

This thread on the Fifa forums inspired me to go full manual this year, so it might help some:

https://fifaforums.easports.com/en/d...eal-simulation

"Shooting would be the last area to get used to. On assisted controls people aim their analog far beyond the corner which they mean to aim for, this is classified by the game as a shot into the corner of the goal. Once you put these same people on manual controls they find that their shots are closer to the corner flag than the goal and promptly complain; “the game is bust man! Look at my shots!”. To which the only response I can offer is; “how is the game bust? You are aiming there so that is where the ball is ending up”. Hitting the goal is the first thing that you must try and do, so inevitability there is a lot of shots which go straight at the keeper. Eventually though, you do develop a sense of control and can pick out the corners of the goal, both from close range and from distance. When you do score a goal from 35 yards out though it is a rarity and something to treasure. Shooting from distance even becomes less common when you realise that the error involved is so high."

Thanks for the reply and information.

Has anyone else had the pitch turn white/off white after a stoppage in play? (it's not snow, the game started with a green pitch, but then turned white/off white. Eventually goes away) I've had this happen 3 times.

Re: FIFA 17 Impressions From The Community

Cool addition that I'm sure has already been mentioned: the option to play a 2nd leg if an exhibition ends tied after full time.

Overall, I think the game provides an excellent yin to PES's yang. More goals and more action. I feel like PES may have cranked up the defending too much. As always, FIFA has better shooting and presentation.
